To accept Google Wallet payments in an online store, connect Stripe and enable Google Pay in the payment settings. Customers may see the wallet at checkout when their device, account, location, and the store’s payment settings are eligible.
Before you begin
- Stripe must be connected and enabled for your store.
- Payment methods depend on the store’s country and currency, Stripe’s regional support, and the customer’s location.
- The setting may be called Google Pay in Stripe even though the checkout help text refers to Google Wallet.
How to enable Google Wallet payments
- Open your store management area and go to Settings → Payments → Manage Stripe.
- Open the connected Stripe account.
- In Stripe, open its payment method settings and find the Wallets section.
- Turn on Google Pay.
- Test the live checkout with an eligible customer device and account, after confirming that your store’s country and currency support the method.
Some account interfaces may instead show a direct Google Pay toggle in the store’s Stripe payment settings. Use the control currently available in your account; the navigation can vary.
When customers will see the wallet
Enabling the method does not guarantee that it appears for every customer. Google Wallet may be suggested to customers who have it configured on their devices. Regional availability and the customer’s location can also affect whether it appears. Check your payment provider’s Google Wallet setup instructions and its guidance on Stripe payment availability.

Troubleshoot a missing Google Pay option
The setting is missing in your store or Stripe account
- Check that Stripe is connected and enabled for the store.
- Check the store’s country and currency, then confirm Stripe supports the payment method for that region.
- Look for a direct wallet toggle in the store’s Stripe settings if the Stripe dashboard navigation differs.
The setting is enabled, but customers do not see it
- Confirm the customer has Google Wallet configured on their device.
- Check whether the store’s region, currency, or the customer’s location affects eligibility.
- Test with an eligible customer device and account rather than assuming the wallet should appear universally.
Payment troubleshooting guidance also notes that payment availability and account conditions can affect which options appear.
