This Itechguide teaches you how to edit a post on Facebook from a smartphone or a PC.
Option 1: Edit a Post from a Smartphone
This section has two sub-sections:
Method 1: Edit a Post Using the Facebook App
- Open the Facebook App and login with your Facebook account.
- Then on top of the app, click the search box icon.
- On the search bar, type the word(s) related to the post you want to edit. For this example I am looking for a post that has the word “itechguides”. To display just Facebook Posts in your results, click POSTS.
- Finally, from the search results, locate the post you want to edit and click it. For this demo, I want to edit the highlighted post.
- When the post opens, on the top right, click the 3 dots. Then click Edit post.
- Finally (yes, another “Finally”!), after editing the post, click SAVE.
Method 2: Edit a Post from a Smartphone Browser
If you do not have the Facebook App or prefer to use a browser on your smartphone, here are the steps to edit a post…
- From your smartphone open Facebook.com. Then login with your Facebook account.
- Click the search icon on top of the page.
- When the search box is loaded, type the word(s) in the post you are looking to edit. Then click Posts. For this demo, I am looking for a post with the word “itechguides”. Clicking Posts, ensures that only Facebook posts are displayed in your search results.
- From the search results locate the post you want to edit and click it. For this example, I will edit the highlighted post.
- When the post opens, click the 3 dots top right of the post. Then select Edit Post.
- The post will open for editing. Make your changes and click Save.
Option 2: Edit a Post Using a PC
If you use Facebook from a PC, you can sill edit a post. Here are the steps:
- From your PC open Facebook.com and login with your Facebook account.
- Then on the search bar, type the word(s) in the post you are looking to edit. For this demo I will search “itechguides”. To display results, click See all results… or click the search icon on the right of the search box.
- On the search results page, to ensure that only Facebook posts are displayed, click Posts.
- Then from the search results, locate the post you want to edit and click on it.
- The post will open in a Pop up window. To edit the post, click the 3 dots on the top right of the pop up. Then click Edit post.
- When the post opens for editing, make the changes you want to make and click Save.
