You can receive Super Chats on a 24/7 gaming music livestream only if your channel qualifies for YouTube fan funding, the feature is available in your location, you accept YouTube’s applicable commerce terms, and the stream has eligible live chat. A continuous stream is not automatically barred, but it must meet YouTube’s rights and monetization policies—and its content should offer clear, original value rather than rely on a static, repetitive loop.
What Super Chats pay for
Super Chat lets an eligible viewer pay to have a message highlighted in a live chat. Super Stickers are a separate paid feature that surfaces animated images in chat. Both are viewer purchases, not guaranteed income: a stream earns from them only when viewers choose to buy them.
YouTube says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google. That is YouTube’s stated share of confirmed revenue, not an estimate of what a particular channel will make per viewer or per hour. Actual earnings depend on whether viewers make purchases and on channel-specific factors.

Ads may not serve in every available slot; memberships involve recurring viewer payments in exchange for offered perks and have their own eligibility and creator obligations. These options have different triggers—viewer purchases, advertising, or recurring membership—and none guarantees a particular return.

Can a 24/7 gaming music stream use Super Chat?
Potentially. YouTube does not say that every continuous livestream is automatically ineligible for monetization. However, the channel still has to qualify for fan funding, and YouTube reviews monetized channels for originality and authenticity. A stream built from interchangeable or repetitive static loops creates a format risk; make the channel’s original contribution and the reason to watch clear.
The music and gameplay also need a rights plan. YouTube requires creators to have the necessary rights to exploit live content, including music rights. A licensed track can still be interrupted if the rightsholder has not allowlisted the channel, and archived livestreams may receive Content ID claims after the broadcast. Gameplay monetization depends on the game publisher’s commercial-use rights and on the content itself. Check the applicable license and publisher terms for your specific tracks and games before going live.

Super Chats are not donations or crowdfunding. YouTube says Supers are not crowdfunding or donation tools; creators should understand the laws that apply to their activity.

- Join the YouTube Partner Program. Apply for and be accepted into the program, and meet the fan-funding minimums. You must be at least 18 and live in a location where the feature is available.
- Accept YouTube’s commerce terms. In YouTube Studio, accept the applicable Commerce Product Module or, where applicable, the previously accepted Commerce Product Addendum. Follow YouTube’s terms and policies.
- Enable the feature in YouTube Studio. Turn on Super Chat and Super Stickers for the channel using the available Studio controls. Labels or availability can vary by account and location, so follow the current prompts shown in Studio.
- Keep the stream eligible. Super Chat and Super Stickers are unavailable on age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, or YouTube Giving fundraiser videos. They also require live chat or comments to be on. Check the stream’s audience and visibility settings before starting.
- Make chat useful. Treat paid messages as an optional way for viewers to interact. Acknowledge them when practical, without promising a response or implying that payment is required to participate.
- Verify rights and originality. Confirm that your music licenses cover livestream use and that your gameplay use meets the publisher’s commercial-use terms. Make the stream recognizably your own rather than relying on a minimal loop.
How to keep a gaming music stream eligible and sustainable
Plan rights for both audio and gameplay
Do not assume that music available to play personally is cleared for a monetized public livestream. Confirm the scope of each music license, including live use and any relevant territories or monetization restrictions. YouTube’s livestream terms require the creator to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services, including music licensing rights. A rightsholder may need to allowlist the channel to prevent a licensed track from triggering an interruption.

For gameplay, consult the game publisher’s commercial-use policy and consider the content surrounding the gameplay. A publisher’s allowance does not by itself settle the rights status of a soundtrack, third-party assets, or other material in the stream.
Give a continuous format a distinct purpose
Continuous availability is a scheduling choice, not a monetization exemption. Consider what viewers get beyond the same footage and music repeating: original commentary, curation, a themed playlist, useful context, or other meaningful creative choices can help make the channel’s contribution apparent. YouTube’s originality review does not establish that all 24/7 streams fail; it does mean that a repetitive, mass-produced presentation can be a risk.

Use Supers as one option, not an income forecast
Super Chat and Super Stickers depend on a viewer choosing to pay during chat. Ads depend on eligible monetization and ad delivery, which is not guaranteed for every slot. Memberships depend on viewers choosing recurring payments for the perks offered. YouTube’s feature descriptions do not establish a likely yield for an individual channel, so assess results using your own Studio reporting rather than generic per-viewer or hourly estimates.
