There is no single download path for “Apollo TV” on every smart TV. First confirm which Apollo-branded service you subscribed to, then follow the app and device instructions in that service’s welcome email or account portal. App availability and provider support can differ by TV platform, model, and region.
Before downloading, identify your Apollo service and TV platform
“Apollo TV” does not identify one unambiguous service or app publisher. Use the welcome email or account portal for your existing subscription to confirm the exact service and the player it recommends. Do not assume an app with a similar name is the correct one.
Check your television’s operating system: Samsung sets generally use Tizen, LG sets use webOS, and other televisions may use Android TV or Google TV. The TV’s built-in app store is the place to check whether the exact recommended player is available for your model and region.
How to install the recommended player from your TV’s app store
- Open your service’s setup instructions. Find the recommended app or player in the welcome email or account portal for the subscription you actually use.
- Search the TV’s built-in app store. Search for the exact player name, not just “Apollo TV.” Store listings can vary by model and region.
- Install and sign in. If the correct player is listed and your provider supports your TV, install it from the store and enter the account details supplied by that provider.
- Stop if the app is missing or support is unclear. Check your provider’s current device guidance before trying a similarly named app or another installation method.
Samsung and LG compatibility is disputed
Guidance published under Apollo Group TV names does not agree on Samsung and LG televisions. The ApolloGroup.TV Support Center’s supported-device page, modified October 14, 2024, says “LGTV AND SAMSUNG TV NOT SUPPORTED.” A separate getapollo.tv smart-TV setup guide describes routes using compatible third-party players on Samsung and LG sets, while noting that availability may depend on region and model.

Because these pages may not refer to the same account or service, neither instruction should be treated as universal. Check the current support policy for the specific provider named in your account materials; do not assume there is an Apollo app in every Samsung or LG store.
Android TV and Google TV: follow the account-provided sideload route
The getapollo.tv Android TV guide says its Apollo TV app is not available in Google Play. It directs subscribers to a download link and installation instructions in their welcome email or account portal, and describes sideloading an APK with the Downloader app.

This is different from installing an app through Google Play. Use a download link only if it appears in the account materials for the service you subscribed to, and verify that the portal belongs to that provider. The guide describes Android TV 7.0 or later; confirm the current requirements with your own provider before proceeding.

When an external streaming device may help
If your TV’s store does not offer a provider-supported player, an external streaming device can be an alternative. The ApolloGroup.TV Support Center lists Fire TV and Android TV device families, specifies Firestick 4K as its minimum hardware for its Fire TV route, and recommends Android TV boxes. These are that support center’s requirements, not a universal standard for every Apollo-branded service.

A separate streaming stick or box adds hardware and setup, but can provide a different app platform from the one built into the television. Check that the exact provider supports the device before buying or installing anything; its requirements may differ.

The Apollo Group TV Help Center’s Installation Guides index lists Samsung and LG installation articles, but an index entry alone does not establish that a particular installation currently works or overrides the support center’s device policy. Confirm compatibility and setup steps with the provider tied to your account.
