To show the current podcast episode title inside your YouTube stream, add a text source or title card in OBS and change it when the episode changes. To change the title shown around the YouTube player, edit the broadcast title in YouTube Studio instead. These are separate things: a YouTube broadcast represents one video with one metadata title, while an on-screen label is part of the video image.
Choose where the episode title should appear

Show the episode title inside the video with OBS
Use this option if viewers should see the title in the picture, regardless of what YouTube displays around the player. OBS Browser Source can add web content to a scene; for plain text, use an OBS text source if available in your setup.
- Open the streaming scene. In OBS, select the scene that feeds your YouTube stream.
- Add the title element. Add a text source for a manually maintained label, or add a Browser Source pointed at a web page or overlay that renders the title. For Browser Source setup, see the OBS documentation.
- Place and style it. Position the label where it will not cover faces, captions, or important artwork. Check that it is legible at the size viewers are likely to watch.
- Update it when the episode changes. Edit the text source or switch to a prepared scene or title card. If you use an external overlay, verify that it supports your specific podcast player or title feed; a browser overlay alone does not establish automatic episode detection.
- Preview the scene. Check the composed output before relying on it live, including the title’s placement and readability.
Change the title shown on YouTube
YouTube treats the broadcast as one video and stores its title in the broadcast’s snippet metadata. It does not provide a separate episode-title field for each segment of a continuous broadcast. You can manage broadcast details through YouTube Studio; programmatic changes require an authorized API implementation. See YouTube LiveBroadcasts and YouTube’s live-streaming guide.
For a stream that moves from one podcast episode to another, use a descriptive title for the overall live video in YouTube and show the currently playing episode name in the video itself. Editing the broadcast title changes metadata for that one video; it does not create episode-by-episode metadata.

Can the episode title update automatically?
It may be possible with a particular player, overlay, or custom integration, but the official documentation cited here does not establish a universal podcast-title feed or automatic episode detection. Before depending on automation, confirm that the overlay can read the title from your exact playback source and test what happens when an episode changes. Otherwise, update the text manually or switch to a prepared title card.
