Tencent EdgeOne Makers can help you build and deploy static sites, web applications, and agents on Tencent EdgeOne infrastructure. Its documented workflow covers importing a Git repository, starting from a template, or uploading project files; Git-connected projects can deploy automatically after commits to the main branch. EdgeOne also provides delivery and security capabilities, but vendor claims are not independent proof of speed or protection for your particular site.
What is Tencent EdgeOne Makers?
Tencent describes EdgeOne Makers as a “Web and Agent development and deployment platform built on the Tencent EdgeOne infrastructure.” It brings project creation and deployment together with EdgeOne’s edge delivery capabilities. Tencent’s Makers product introduction describes acceleration and intelligent caching for static resources and dynamic content.
It helps to distinguish the two layers: Makers is the development and deployment platform; EdgeOne is the underlying service for edge delivery and security features. Which capabilities apply depends on the relevant plan and configuration. Makers should not be treated as a universal speed optimizer or a replacement for application security work.

How do I get started with EdgeOne Makers?
Tencent’s quick-start guide documents three ways to create a project. Choose based on what you have and how you want future deployments to work.
#1 Best Overall
| Option | Best fit | Important consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Connect a Git repository | You already keep the project in Git and want a commit-based workflow. | Tencent documents automatic deployment when a commit is made to the main branch. |
| Start from a template | You want a starter project rather than supplying an existing codebase. | Review the template and build settings to ensure they suit your application. |
| Upload project files | You have a prepared project and do not need Git-based automatic deployment. | Tencent says a direct-upload project cannot later switch to Git integration. Create a new Git-integrated project if you need that workflow. |
- Choose a creation method. Select Git integration, a template, or direct upload according to the table above. Makers also documents agent templates.
- Connect or provide the project. For Git, connect a provider and authorize Makers to access the repository; for the other paths, choose a template or supply the files.
- Review build settings. Check the project’s build configuration and any runtime requirements. The guide describes the general workflow; consult current documentation for the applicable settings and console labels.
- Deploy and inspect the preview. Confirm that the site or application behaves as expected before directing visitors to it.
- Configure a custom domain. Tencent’s domain instructions say to configure the domain through the console and update DNS with your domain provider. The Makers FAQ says SSL certificates are offered automatically after successful domain configuration.
The documented sequence is a starting point, not a guarantee that every project deploys without changes. Framework versions, build behavior, runtimes, and external service dependencies can affect compatibility.
What can I deploy with Makers?
Tencent lists static websites, single-page applications, full-stack applications, and agent applications among the supported project types. Its materials name Astro, React, Vue, Next.js, and Nuxt, and the documentation describes dynamic APIs and serverless functions. These are vendor-documented categories and examples, not a promise that every version or project configuration will work unchanged. Check current documentation for framework versions and runtime constraints.
- Static site: A template or Git deployment may be enough for a site made of built files.
- Single-page application: Verify the build configuration and how routes should resolve when users open a URL directly.
- Full-stack application: Check the requirements for dynamic APIs, functions, environment variables, and any external services the application uses.
- Agent application: Review its runtime and execution quota requirements as well as the project setup.
For example, Tencent names Next.js as a supported framework, but that alone does not establish compatibility for every Next.js version, rendering mode, or runtime feature. Confirm the current Makers documentation against your project’s needs before migrating.

What do the performance claims mean?
Tencent says Makers uses EdgeOne’s global edge network for acceleration and intelligent caching. Its product materials advertise 3,200+ nodes, 400 Tbps, and latency of less than 50 milliseconds. These are Tencent-published figures; the product page does not provide enough measurement scope or methodology to treat them as a guaranteed result for a particular site. No independent site-speed testing or comparison with other hosting platforms is established here.
Rank #3
Edge caching and delivery can be relevant to how content reaches users, but actual results depend on the site, its content, configuration, and visitors’ locations. Treat the figures as vendor claims, not a forecast of your own page load time. Tencent’s EdgeOne product page describes the broader service.
What security does Makers provide—and what does it not prove?
Tencent’s Free Edition Quotas and Limits page says Makers reuses the underlying EdgeOne security protection engine. For the free edition, it describes limited custom rules and precise rate-limiting rules, automated DDoS scrubbing without a guaranteed minimum protection resource capacity, and basic bot-management behavior. The page says traffic-fraud prevention applies only to mainland China.
These descriptions indicate available platform-level protections, not a guarantee against every attack. The broader EdgeOne documentation lists DNS, acceleration, and DDoS, CC, web, and bot protection services; check the applicable plan and configuration for the protection your site needs. Edge delivery does not establish that application vulnerabilities, weak credentials, unsafe dependencies, or origin-security issues are addressed. Secure the application and its infrastructure as separate responsibilities.
How much can I use on the free edition?
Tencent’s free-edition limits page lists the following quotas. The page was accessed in 2026 and warns that quotas may change after commercialization; it also says enforcement is more lenient before the commercial edition officially launches.
Best Value
| Free-edition allowance listed | Quota |
|---|---|
| Projects | 40 |
| Builds | 500 per month |
| Edge Function executions | 3 million per month |
| Cloud Function executions | 1 million per month |
| Agent executions | 200,000 per month |
| KV storage | 1 GB |
| Blob storage | 1 GB |
| Custom domains | 200 |
| SSL support | Free SSL support is listed |
The Makers FAQ describes a time-limited free phase, while Tencent’s EdgeOne service page presents subscription plans. Makers quotas and EdgeOne plan pricing are not interchangeable. Check the current console and plan details before basing a production decision on these allowances.
How do I decide whether Makers fits my project?
- Choose Git integration if your code is already in a repository and you want deployments tied to commits.
- Choose a template if you want a starting project and are willing to adapt it.
- Choose direct upload if your project is prepared as files and you do not need Git automation later.
- Check application fit by matching your framework, runtime, build behavior, functions, and external dependencies to current documentation.
- Estimate usage against build, execution, storage, and domain quotas, especially for an agent or dynamic application.
- Check geography and protection needs against the EdgeOne plan and settings that apply to your users and site.
Makers may be a practical route to deploy a supported project with EdgeOne delivery features, particularly when its creation workflow and quotas match your needs. The available official materials do not establish that it is faster or more secure than other hosting platforms for a given site; that requires project-specific evaluation.
