Vorlon.JS is documented as a remote JavaScript debugging tool: run its Node.js server, open the browser-based dashboard, and load a client script in the web page you want to inspect. The dashboard can then show that page’s console, DOM, JavaScript objects, network activity, and browser storage. The setup below reflects the project’s documentation; current maintenance and runtime compatibility are not established by the available sources.
How Vorlon.JS connects to a remote page
Vorlon uses a server-and-client arrangement. The server hosts the dashboard and relays information between it and a client script running in the application under inspection. In the standard workflow, the server and dashboard are on the debugging machine, while the instrumented page may be open on another device that can reach the server.
The dashboard is organized around a client summary and plugin panels. Its documented plugins provide views into browser activity and page state; they are not a guarantee of compatibility with every current browser or framework.
How to connect a web app to the dashboard
The project documentation describes this basic workflow. It is a source-era procedure, not a guarantee that the package installs or runs successfully on a current system.

Install Vorlon globally using npm, as described in the Vorlon documentation. The documentation’s command is
npm install -g vorlon. -
Start the server by running
vorlonin a terminal. -
Open http://localhost:1337 in a browser to load the dashboard on the server machine.

Add the client script to the HTML of the page you want to inspect:

Load or refresh the instrumented page. Its client should appear in the dashboard, where you can select it and open the available plugin panels.

What you can inspect
The following are capabilities listed in Vorlon’s documentation, rather than assurances about current browser or framework compatibility.
Console and page execution
The Console panel displays client-side console.log, console.warn, and console.error messages. It also provides a way to evaluate code in the remote page’s context, which can help examine or alter page state during debugging.

DOM, CSS, and JavaScript objects
The DOM explorer lets you inspect page elements, highlight selected nodes, and view or modify CSS properties. The Object explorer displays JavaScript variables and nested properties.
Requests and resources
The XHR and network panels provide request status and details, resource domains, durations, and a timeline. The Resources explorer covers client-side sessions, cookies, and local storage.

The documentation also lists browser feature detection, AngularJS scope inspection, remote QUnit testing, device information, Node.js process details, and Express request and session information. These are documented plugin capabilities; the documentation does not establish that they work with current versions of those technologies.

Other documented ways to use Vorlon
Proxy mode
Vorlon’s proxy mode can forward requests to a target website and inject the client script, avoiding a direct edit to the site’s HTML for that inspection. The documentation says a cookie routes later resource requests and warns against inspecting multiple sites through proxy mode in the same browser instance: tabs share that cookie, which can confuse routing.
Node.js applications
The documentation describes using vorlon-node-wrapper with Node.js applications. Because Node.js does not provide browser DOM elements, browser-oriented plugins do not all apply; only plugins identified as Node-compliant are described as available in that context.
Hosting the dashboard for a team
The documentation includes optional basic authentication settings, SSL configuration, and reverse-proxy guidance for a hosted dashboard. Those examples explain configuration options but are not a modern security audit, and copying a sample configuration does not by itself establish that a deployment is safe. Before exposing a dashboard beyond a trusted local environment, assess authentication, transport security, network access, and the risk of allowing remote code evaluation against connected pages.

Compatibility and maintenance: what is known
Current compatibility is unresolved. The npm search listing reports Vorlon version 0.5.5, published nine years ago: npm package listing. The project landing page contains an undated notice that Vorlon does not work with Node v18 and recommends v16 until fixed: Vorlon project page. Because the notice is undated and Node 18 support has since ended, it is not a sound basis for recommending Node 16 today. These sources do not establish a currently supported Node.js version or present-day project maintenance status.
Check the project’s current release and compatibility information before relying on Vorlon for a new setup. If you cannot verify a compatible runtime, treat the documented commands as historical guidance rather than a dependable installation path.
How many devices can it connect?
The Vorlon project page claims support for up to 50 devices simultaneously. The page gives no publication date or independent capacity test, so this is a project claim—not a verified current limit or performance guarantee. Vorlon project page
