The best route depends on whether you need a simple image sequence or slides visitors can navigate, and where you want the presentation hosted.
Choose how to add your presentation

WordPress’s Embed block adds third-party content to a post or page; it links to content hosted elsewhere rather than uploading a copy to WordPress. See WordPress’s Embed block guide. External presentations therefore depend on the provider’s sharing settings and continued availability. If you want to maintain every slide as an image in WordPress, use the Slideshow block instead.
Add an image slideshow with the WordPress Slideshow block
Use this option when the presentation can be shown as a sequence of images rather than as an interactive slide deck. WordPress.com documents adding the Slideshow block from the dashboard, and Jetpack can provide the block for a site. See the Slideshow block guide.
- Open the page, post, or template you want to edit in the WordPress editor.
- Select the block inserter, search for “Slideshow,” and add the Slideshow block.
- Add the images you want to display. Upload them to WordPress or select images already in the media library.
- Preview the page to confirm the images appear in the intended sequence and display acceptably on mobile.
- Publish or update the page.
Because the slides are images stored with your WordPress content, update them in the editor when the presentation changes.

Embed a supported presentation URL
For a deck already hosted by a third party, try WordPress’s generic Embed block. This is a URL-based method and works only when the provider and URL are supported by your WordPress setup; a URL is not the same as an iframe embed code.
- Set the presentation’s sharing permissions so the intended audience can view it.
- Copy its public or share URL from the presentation service.
- In the WordPress editor, add an Embed block, or type
/embedin a new block. - Paste the URL and select “Embed.”
- Preview the page, including on mobile, before publishing.
If WordPress does not turn the URL into an embed, the service may not be supported, the URL may be unsuitable, or access may be restricted. Use a service-specific block, a provider-supplied iframe in an HTML-capable editor, or a maintained plugin if appropriate. Do not assume every WordPress installation accepts arbitrary iframe code.

Embed a public Speaker Deck presentation
Speaker Deck has a dedicated WordPress block. You need a Speaker Deck account to upload your own slides, and the presentation must be public to embed it. WordPress explains the block in its Speaker Deck embed guide.
- Upload your slide deck to Speaker Deck and make it public.
- Copy the presentation’s public URL.
- In WordPress, add the Speaker Deck block and paste the URL.
- Preview the embedded deck and publish the page when it looks right.
This keeps the deck hosted on Speaker Deck, so changes to the hosted presentation can be reflected in the embed. Its display still depends on the deck remaining public and the provider being available.

Embed a PowerPoint presentation from OneDrive
Microsoft’s documented workflow is to save the presentation to OneDrive, open it in PowerPoint for the web, and generate embed code. Microsoft notes that a presentation saved to OneDrive can be embedded in a web page or blog; see Microsoft’s instructions for embedding a presentation.
- Save the PowerPoint presentation to OneDrive.
- Open it in PowerPoint for the web.
- Select “Share” and then “Embed this Presentation.”
- Copy the iframe code Microsoft provides.
- In WordPress, add a Custom HTML block or use another HTML-capable editor, then paste the code.
- Preview the page to verify that the viewer appears and fits the layout; then publish.
Whether visitors can view the presentation depends on its OneDrive sharing permissions. If the embed is blocked or the viewer does not appear, check the presentation’s sharing settings and use the provider’s current embed instructions.

Embed Google Slides
Google describes Slides as an online app for creating and formatting presentations and collaborating with others. See Google’s introduction to Google Slides. To place a deck on a WordPress page, use the sharing or publishing options available for that presentation to obtain an embed code or supported URL, then use WordPress’s matching insertion method.
- Open the presentation in Google Slides and set access appropriate for your audience.
- Use Google Slides’ sharing or publishing controls to obtain an embed option or URL. Available controls can depend on the presentation and account settings.
- If you have an iframe code, add it through an HTML-capable WordPress block or editor. If you have a URL, try the Embed block.
- Preview the result and check it on mobile before publishing.
If the presentation is private or its sharing settings do not permit visitors to view it, the embed may not work for them. Google Slides remains hosted by Google, so changes to the online deck can appear in the embedded version.

When a plugin makes sense
A plugin may help if your site needs a presentation-specific layout, a document viewer, or an embed workflow beyond the built-in blocks. The WordPress.org presentations plugin directory lists options such as HTML5 Slideshow Presentations, Presenter, Responsive Slide, and Presentation Block. Compatibility information and plugin availability can change, so check the current listing and test a plugin on your site before relying on it.
EasyEMBED advertises shortcode-based embedding for formats including PDF, Google Slides, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with responsive and fullscreen options. Review its current documentation and compatibility before installation; a plugin’s advertised features do not guarantee that a particular external document’s permissions or embed settings will work.

Check the presentation before publishing
- Confirm that the deck or images are in the right order and that the content is legible.
- Test the published page on a phone as well as a desktop-sized screen.
- For externally hosted decks, check access in a browser or session where you are not signed in as the owner.
- If an embed fails, check the URL or code, sharing permissions, provider support, and whether your WordPress editor allows the chosen embed method.
- Remember that image slideshows are maintained in WordPress, while external embeds depend on their host and can reflect changes made to the hosted deck.
