To loop real estate listings on YouTube Live, create a finished video with property footage and accurate on-screen labels, then send it to YouTube through an encoder configured to repeat the video. YouTube Studio sets up and manages the live event; do not assume it will loop a video file for you. Test the encoder’s repeat behavior and the full listing sequence before sharing a public stream.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified, has no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and meets YouTube’s age requirements for streaming. YouTube says streamers must be at least 16. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of your planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips and encoder setup guidance.
- A prepared video of listing photos or footage, with labels composed into the video.
- An encoder—software or standalone hardware—that can send the video to YouTube and repeat it. YouTube supports encoder streaming, but its cited instructions do not specify which encoders have file-loop controls or how to configure them. Verify the repeat setting in your chosen encoder.
- A reliable internet connection with enough upload capacity for the stream bitrate. YouTube recommends 20% bandwidth headroom above the total bitrate; its streaming tips also advise testing and monitoring the connection.
A webcam and microphone are optional for a live agent segment. They are not needed for a fully prerecorded listing loop.
Prepare the listing video and labels
- Arrange the property photos or footage in the order you want viewers to see them. Give each property its own segment if the video rotates through several listings.
- Add a label to each segment as part of the video production—burn it into the image or composite it as an overlay. YouTube’s cited help does not prescribe real-estate label fields or a visual style.
- Use only current, authorized details. Depending on the listing, useful information may include an address or neighborhood, price, bed and bath count, and a contact. Confirm every detail before publishing.
- Keep the text readable on a phone-sized preview, use a consistent label position and treatment, and avoid covering important parts of the property footage.
- Review the finished video for correct property order, legible labels, and any stale details before loading it into the encoder.
Set up the repeat in an encoder
Use an encoder workflow to send the prepared listing video to YouTube Live. YouTube supports encoders for prepared feeds and production setups, but the cited YouTube pages do not document a built-in Studio control for repeating a file. The loop must be configured in the encoder you select.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Open the encoder and load the finished listing video as its media source.
- Find the encoder’s repeat, loop, or equivalent playback control and enable it. The exact label and steps depend on the encoder; check its own documentation rather than assuming YouTube provides this setting.
- Run a full-cycle rehearsal. Confirm that the video plays through the final listing and returns cleanly to the first, with no unintended pause, black frame, or audio interruption.
- If you plan to add a live host, test the transition between the prerecorded segments and the live camera and microphone feed as well.
Create the YouTube Live event
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.
- Create a new stream, or schedule one from the Manage tab. Scheduling provides a watch page that you can share in advance.
- Set the title, description, privacy, and other metadata. YouTube says stream metadata can be edited through the stream settings; review the settings in Manage live stream settings.
- In Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key. The stream key identifies where the encoder feed is sent and lets YouTube accept it. Treat it like a password: do not publish or share it. If it is compromised, reset it in Live Control Room.
Connect, preview, and test the stream
- In the encoder, enter the YouTube stream URL in its server or stream URL field and the stream key in its key field.
- Start the encoder and wait for the feed to appear in YouTube Live Control Room.
- Inspect the preview for label readability, correct listing order, picture and sound, and whether the stream is accessible as expected. Check the watch page from both a phone and a desktop.
- Keep upload capacity above the total stream bitrate with YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. If the connection is interrupted, the stream may break; test the network and encoder setup before the public event.
- Before sharing the event, rehearse the complete loop, including its return to the first listing. YouTube advises preparing encoders ahead of time and testing the setup.

Choose between a prerecorded loop and a live host
| Format | Use it when | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Fully prerecorded loop | You want a consistent rotation of listing footage without a live presenter. | You must test repeat playback and keep listing information current. |
| Loop with a live host segment | An agent should introduce properties, answer questions, or appear on camera between listing segments. | It requires a camera or webcam, microphone, and active monitoring. |
These are production choices, not YouTube-defined stream modes. Either can use an encoder; a webcam or microphone is optional unless the production includes a live presenter.
Rights, property details, and YouTube policies
Before broadcasting, confirm that you have permission to use the listing photography or video, interior footage, music, and any identifiable people shown. Verify that the listing details are current and authorized. Requirements involving real-estate advertising, privacy, brokerage, or fair housing depend on the jurisdiction and circumstances; check the rules that apply to the properties and your role.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The video does not repeat. Check that repeat playback is enabled in the encoder, not assumed to be a YouTube Studio feature. Test through the end of the file and its return to the beginning.
- YouTube is not receiving the encoder feed. Recheck that the encoder’s URL and key match the current values in Live Control Room. Keep the key private; reset it if you believe someone else has access.
- Labels are hard to read or cover the property. Review the output at phone size, adjust text size or placement in the video project, then repeat the preview before going public.
- The stream is unstable or disconnects. Check the upload connection and leave the recommended 20% headroom above the total bitrate. Rehearse the setup before the event rather than relying on an untested connection.
- The live-stream option is unavailable. Check channel verification and recent live-stream restrictions. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours for it to become available.
- The replay is missing. Check whether the stream ran for 12 hours or longer; YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours.
