To show products in a vertical list on your customer-facing Shop page, edit the WooCommerce Product Catalog template and set its Product Collection block layout to Stack. The editor’s separate “List View” is only a block outline for navigating the page; it does not change how products appear to shoppers.

Set the Shop catalog to a vertical list

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Editor.

  2. Open Templates > WooCommerce > Product Catalog. This template controls the main Shop page, so changing the Shop page itself may not affect the catalog display. WooCommerce’s Product Catalog documentation explains the template’s role.

  3. Select the Product Collection block. It is the block that dynamically displays products in the catalog. If it is difficult to select on the canvas, use the editor’s List View outline to locate it.

  4. In the block settings sidebar, find Layout and choose Stack. Stack displays products vertically; Grid arranges them in columns, while Carousel displays a horizontal slider. See WooCommerce’s Product Collection block documentation.

  5. Preview the catalog, then save the template. Check the Shop page on the storefront to confirm the result.

Editor labels and available options can vary with WordPress, WooCommerce, and the active theme. If Appearance > Editor is missing, the theme may not support the Site Editor; the WooCommerce editor documentation describes the block-theme editing context.

Adjust which products appear in the list

Stack changes the presentation, not the product selection rules. In the Product Collection settings, you can use the current page’s query or configure a custom query. Depending on the collection settings, you can control ordering and products per page, or limit products to sale items or particular stock statuses. The available controls are described in the Product Collection documentation.

To let shoppers narrow the catalog, add a Product Filters block alongside the collection. It provides filters based on the catalog options available to the store; see WooCommerce’s Product Filters documentation.

When Stack is enough—and when to use a product table

For a straightforward one-product-per-row storefront layout, the built-in Stack layout is the direct option. A product table or listing extension is worth considering only when you need more structured table behavior, such as additional columns or table-specific controls. WooCommerce documents optional extensions for these use cases in its Product Table documentation and Product Listing Page documentation. An extension is not required just to display a vertical list.

Distinguish storefront layout from other “list” features

Editor List View

The Site Editor’s List View is a navigable outline of the blocks in a page or template. Open it from the editor toolbar to find, select, move, or edit blocks such as Product Collection. It is an editing aid, not a storefront layout setting. See WooCommerce’s editor documentation.

Products list in the dashboard

If you mean managing products rather than changing their storefront presentation, use Products in the WordPress dashboard. WooCommerce provides filters for category, product type, and stock status, as well as manual sorting for product order. Those tools organize or order products; they do not switch the Shop page from a grid to a vertical layout. See WooCommerce’s product management documentation.
