To put product selection and payment on one page in WooCommerce, use the official One Page Checkout extension: enable it on a product or add its shortcode to a page. The standard Checkout page still needs to remain assigned for order confirmation and for any gateway or extension that depends on normal checkout.
What WooCommerce means by one-page checkout
WooCommerce’s One Page Checkout extension combines product selection and a checkout form on the same product page or dedicated page. It is distinct from the core Checkout block, which provides a checkout form but does not itself combine product selection with checkout.

Use the extension when customers should be able to choose products and check out in one place. Use the core Checkout block when you want to place WooCommerce’s checkout form on a particular page; that block does not, by itself, add a product-selection experience.
Enable One Page Checkout on a product
- Install and activate WooCommerce’s One Page Checkout extension.
- In WordPress admin, open Products and edit the product.
- In the product’s Product data panel, enable One Page Checkout, then save or update the product.
- Preview the product page. The checkout form should appear there; adding the product can update its quantity in the form rather than sending the shopper to the regular checkout page. Items already in the cart may also appear.
Add a dedicated one-page checkout page with a shortcode
- Create or edit the WordPress page or post where the combined product-selection and checkout flow should appear.
- Add the shortcode
[woocommerce_one_page_checkout]to the page content. - Set the products with the
product_idsattribute. You can also select a built-in layout with thetemplateattribute. - Publish or update the page, then test it with the store’s products, theme, payment gateway, and other checkout extensions.
For example, this shortcode shows products with the example IDs 123 and 456 using the Product List layout:
#1 Best Overall
[woocommerce_one_page_checkout product_ids="123,456" template="product-list"]
Replace those example IDs with product IDs from your own store. Only one One Page Checkout shortcode works on a page. Products that do not exist or are out of stock will not appear for selection.
The Classic Editor has a graphical shortcode interface, but WooCommerce documents that it is available only with the Classic Editor plugin. In the newer editor, enter the shortcode manually.

The extension includes four built-in layouts:
| Template | Shortcode value | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Product List | product-list |
Show the selected products as a list. |
| Product Table | product-table |
Show the selected products in a table. |
| Single Product | product-single |
Present a single product. |
| Pricing Table | pricing-table |
Present products in a pricing-table layout. |
To create a custom selection layout, a developer must add a template file to the active theme’s /woocommerce/checkout/ directory, render the products, and register the template with the wcopc_templates filter. WooCommerce’s guide assumes familiarity with HTML, CSS, and WooCommerce templating. Custom templates also reduce out-of-the-box compatibility, so test the result with the store’s full checkout setup.
When to use the core Checkout block instead
If you only need WooCommerce’s checkout form on a chosen page, add the Checkout block to that page and assign it under WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced. This is not the One Page Checkout extension’s combined product-selection flow.
Stores started on WooCommerce 8.3 or later default to Cart and Checkout blocks. Compatibility depends on the store’s extensions and payment gateway; WooCommerce warns that incompatible gateways may not appear with block checkout and that incompatible extensions may prompt a switch to Classic Checkout.
- With a block theme, edit the Checkout template at Appearance > Editor > Templates > WooCommerce.
- With a non-block theme, edit the Checkout page under Pages.
WooCommerce also documents a way to revert to Classic Checkout if needed. Check gateway and extension compatibility before relying on a block-based checkout.

Keep the regular Checkout page assigned
One Page Checkout does not replace the standard WooCommerce Checkout page. WooCommerce uses that page for receipts and order confirmation, and some gateways or extensions may require the regular Cart and Checkout pages. Keep the normal checkout configuration in place even if customers start on a one-page checkout page.
WooCommerce creates Shop, Cart, Checkout, and My Account pages during setup, and lets you change their assignments. After creating a custom page, verify the assigned pages under WooCommerce > Settings so the ordinary Checkout page remains configured.

- Check WooCommerce’s tested integrations for the One Page Checkout extension and the template you plan to use.
- Product Add-Ons File Upload is listed as unsupported. Do not assume that every add-on field type works.
- Confirm how the payment gateway behaves with the chosen checkout type. The One Page Checkout guide says gateways using WooCommerce’s normal payment section should work; block checkout has separate compatibility considerations.
- Test with the actual theme, products, add-ons, and other checkout extensions—not just a default product.
- Check both in-stock and out-of-stock products so the displayed selection matches what shoppers can buy.
WooCommerce’s documentation explains setup and compatibility, but does not establish a measured conversion lift from using one-page checkout. Treat any claimed improvement in sales or abandonment as unproven unless it is supported by a valid test of your own store.
