To create a 24/7 YouTube piano study music radio channel, prepare music and visuals you have rights to use, enable live streaming on a verified YouTube channel, then run a continuous encoder—or use a cloud service that loops uploaded videos. The difficult parts are not pressing “Go live”: they are clearing every music right, planning for outages, and understanding that YouTube may not archive a broadcast longer than 12 hours.
1. Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. For a produced radio-style broadcast—with prepared piano audio and a designed visual—encoder streaming is a suitable YouTube method. YouTube identifies encoders as an option for broadcasts using overlays or equipment.
Enable live streaming in YouTube Studio and allow time for activation if this is your channel’s first livestream. Before scheduling a launch, confirm that the channel’s live-streaming feature is available and that the stream can be created from your account.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2. Clear the music and visuals before building the stream
Confirm the full scope of each music license
Use piano recordings that you own or have licensed for the uses you intend. Check that the permission covers livestreaming, the territories where the broadcast may be available, monetization if applicable, archived videos, and continuous or repeated playback. Rights may involve performers, composers, publishers, labels, and other participants; having a copy of an audio file is not evidence that you may broadcast it.

YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions make the content provider responsible for having the necessary rights to exploit live content on Google services worldwide, including music rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants.
Plan for Content ID checks
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects material, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, warn you, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it. A license does not necessarily prevent an automated interruption: YouTube advises creators who have licensed third-party material to ask the rights owner to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist.
Do not treat a “royalty-free” label alone as proof that a track is cleared for a YouTube livestream and its archive. Keep license records and, where relevant, written confirmation of Content ID allowlisting. You can use the copyright safety checklist as a planning aid, but it does not replace permission from rights holders.

Make the visual part yours, too
Use artwork, animation, footage, or other visuals you created or are authorized to use. A static image is technically simple, but original visuals or meaningful programming can also help distinguish the channel from interchangeable, mass-produced streams.
3. Choose how to keep the broadcast running
A continuous stream needs an uninterrupted source of audio and video. With a local setup, the computer, encoder, media, power, and internet connection all need to keep working. A hosted service can play uploaded videos from the cloud instead, but check that its features and terms match your workflow. Neither approach removes the need to secure the music rights.
| Approach | What you manage | Key trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Computer and encoder | Your playlist or media source, encoder, power, internet connection, and recovery when any component fails. | More direct control of the broadcast setup, but your local equipment and connection must stay available. |
| Cloud video-looping service | Uploaded video, YouTube stream key, playlist, and service settings. | The service can keep uploaded media running without your home computer staying on; check the provider’s supported destination, quality handling, storage, pricing, and recovery behavior. |
4. Set up a local OBS broadcast
OBS Studio is a computer-based route to YouTube encoder streaming. Its guide describes connecting an account and starting a broadcast through YouTube integration, but it dates from 2015; consult current OBS and YouTube instructions for the exact controls in your installed versions. There is no universal computer specification or reliable 24/7 preset established for every resolution, media source, and scene.

- Prepare the media: assemble only cleared tracks and visuals. Test that the playlist advances as intended and that audio levels are consistent. Keep a copy of source files and license records.
- Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio: choose a title and audience settings, then select the encoder workflow and copy the stream key or connect the YouTube account through OBS. Labels can change, so use the current YouTube Studio prompts.
- Connect OBS: follow the current OBS YouTube connection flow or enter the stream key in OBS’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password; anyone with it may be able to broadcast to your channel. Do not publish or share it.
- Build and test the scene: add the authorized visual and audio source, verify that the intended playlist is audible, and check the outgoing preview in YouTube Studio before making the stream public.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it: confirm YouTube reports that the stream is receiving data and watch for audio, visual, network, or copyright warnings. Test a controlled interruption and recovery before advertising the channel as continuously available.
Operationally, decide what happens if OBS closes, the computer restarts, power or internet drops, or the media playlist ends. Keep recovery credentials secure and monitor the broadcast; YouTube’s encoder support is not an uptime guarantee.

YouTube says livestreams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. A 24/7 broadcast therefore should not be treated as a dependable complete replay. If preserving recordings matters, keep a local recording backup and consider ending and restarting in sessions shorter than 12 hours. Tell viewers when a scheduled reset may happen so a reconnect does not look like an unexplained failure.

Livestreams are subject to YouTube’s channel monetization rules. On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified that its repetitious-content policy is called “inauthentic content”; highly repetitive, mass-produced, or interchangeable material may not be eligible for monetization. That does not establish that every static-image music stream is automatically rejected, nor does originality guarantee approval.
