You can create a continuous YouTube meditation music stream by preparing a rights-cleared audio-and-visual loop, enabling live streaming on your channel at least 24 hours in advance, sending the feed through an encoder, and testing it as an unlisted broadcast before launch. For a true 24/7 stream, you also need a way to keep the feed running and monitor it. YouTube does not guarantee uninterrupted playback, and copyrighted music can interrupt a live broadcast even when you have a license.

What you need before going live

  • A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled and account verification completed in advance.
  • Meditation music and visuals that you created or have permission to use for continuous YouTube live streaming.
  • A continuous audio-and-visual feed and an encoder that can send it to YouTube. YouTube describes an encoder as offering more control than a basic mobile or webcam stream; it does not make dedicated encoder hardware mandatory.
  • A plan for keeping the feed running and checking it. The platform guidance does not establish a particular computer specification, encoder brand, hosting arrangement, or uptime guarantee.

Enable live streaming ahead of launch

If this is your channel’s first live stream, allow time for activation and verification. YouTube for Artists says to enable live streaming at least 24 hours before going live and verify the account by phone.

  1. In YouTube, select Create (+) → Go live → Enable.
  2. Complete phone verification if prompted.
  3. Do this at least 24 hours before your planned first broadcast, rather than waiting until launch day.

Keep a buffer before announcing a fixed start time: channel checks or verification can take time, and an unlisted preflight is still needed.

Clear the music rights before building the loop

Use music you control, or get permission that explicitly covers the way you intend to use it. A track being available to download, or a license allowing ordinary video use, does not by itself establish permission for a continuous live stream.

If you use your own music

Confirm that you control the rights in the recordings and compositions you plan to stream, including any contributions from performers, collaborators, or other rights holders. Keep records of the permissions relevant to the channel.

If you license someone else’s music

Ask the rights owner or provider whether the license permits continuous YouTube live streaming, monetization, archiving, and use in every territory you intend to reach. These terms depend on the actual license. If the content is managed through Content ID, ask the owner to add your channel to its allowlist. YouTube warns that a licensed stream can still be interrupted if the channel is not allowlisted.

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match may result in a placeholder image, a temporary interruption, or termination if the issue remains. A clean unlisted test is not proof that the music is cleared: YouTube also says claims on an archived live stream are made after the stream ends.

Choose a format that fits the listening experience

YouTube for Artists describes horizontal video as the traditional live format, vertical video as also appearing in the Shorts feed for mobile viewers, and desktop dual streaming as a way to transmit both formats in one broadcast. The available guidance does not establish which format performs best with Indian meditation listeners.

Format Viewing context What to consider
Horizontal Traditional player and wider-screen viewing Choose it if the visual is composed for a wide frame or you want a conventional livestream presentation.
Vertical Mobile viewing; YouTube for Artists says vertical live streams can also appear in the Shorts feed Compose the visual for a tall frame and check that important elements remain visible on a phone.
Desktop dual streaming Both horizontal and vertical presentations in one broadcast Consider it if you can prepare and verify both compositions. The cited guidance does not promise better performance for either format.

Pick the format based on the artwork, intended devices, and the experience you want to offer. Treat language, musical tradition, instruments, and broadcast timing as audience decisions to validate; the available official guidance does not identify a preferred choice for Indian meditation listeners.

Build and send the continuous feed

Prepare the audio and visual presentation as a feed your chosen encoder can transmit continuously. The encoder route gives more control than a simple mobile or webcam broadcast, but YouTube’s guidance does not prescribe a particular encoder, computer, cloud host, bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval. Use the current settings presented for your encoder and YouTube workflow rather than assuming an unverified numeric configuration is suitable.

  1. Prepare the music and visual loop, and confirm that the full presentation is covered by your rights.
  2. In YouTube Studio’s live setup, create or select the broadcast and obtain its stream key. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to send a feed to your channel.
  3. Enter the stream key in the encoder’s YouTube streaming destination and start sending the feed.
  4. Check the broadcast in YouTube Studio before making it public. An active stream status is confirmation that YouTube’s servers are receiving encoder data; it is not a guarantee that the stream will stay uninterrupted.

For an all-day or overnight broadcast, plan how you will notice a stopped feed and restore it. The YouTube guidance describes the encoder and broadcast lifecycle, not a guaranteed 24/7 operating method.

Test privately before the public launch

YouTube for Artists recommends an unlisted test, especially for a high-production or high-investment stream. Use it to verify both the signal and the presentation before inviting viewers.

  1. Set the broadcast visibility to Unlisted for the test.
  2. Start the encoder and confirm in YouTube Studio that the stream appears and that the stream status is active, meaning YouTube is receiving encoder data.
  3. Listen for stable, audible music and check that the visual is present and composed correctly in the selected format.
  4. Check playback on the devices your audience is likely to use, particularly a phone if you choose vertical video.
  5. Confirm that the test uses the intended music and that rights and any required Content ID allowlisting are in place. A test without a match does not establish that copyrighted music is cleared.
  6. After the test, make the actual broadcast public when you are ready.

Google’s Live Streaming API documentation also describes testing a broadcast and checking for an active stream status. That API documentation is useful for API-based workflows; creators using Studio and an encoder can use Studio’s live status to check that the feed is arriving.

Keep the channel useful for Indian listeners

There is no established one-size-fits-all schedule, language, meditation style, or musical tradition for this audience. Start with a clear concept, then use your own channel’s audience response to decide what to adjust. Make the title and description accurately identify the music and listening context, and avoid implying a spiritual tradition or language that the stream does not actually represent.

YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a broad platform statistic, not an estimate of Indian viewers or demand for meditation music, so it should not be used to forecast this channel’s audience.

Or let it run in the cloud

For a YouTube stream made from uploaded recordings, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos; it does not broadcast from a camera.

  • Your computer and home internet connection do not have to stay on for the stream to continue.
  • Each slot streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot rather than quality-based tiers.
  • It automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
  • The first day is free with no card required, one free day per account. The monthly plan is $9.99 per month.
  • UPI and cards are supported in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Each slot includes 10 GB storage, pooled across active slots, plus looping, playlists, and support from the StreamNeo team.
