To livestream a real cabin fireplace around the clock, set up a camera or webcam, enable YouTube Live, and send the video through YouTube Studio using a supported streaming method. Keep the camera, encoder and internet connection running, and monitor the stream. For a prerecorded fireplace loop, use an encoder or cloud service instead of presenting it as a live camera view. One important limit: YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, so a continuous 24/7 broadcast is not a dependable way to create a complete replay.
Choose between a real fireplace and a prerecorded loop
Decide what viewers should see before setting up the stream:
- Live cabin scene: A webcam or camera shows the actual fireplace. YouTube supports webcam streaming, and an encoder can be used when you need external video hardware or more production control. The camera, encoder and connection have to remain operating.
- Prerecorded fireplace footage: An encoder or cloud streaming service can send a video loop as a YouTube Live stream. YouTube lists cloud tools for continuous streaming of prerecorded video. This is a video being streamed, not a live camera view of the cabin.

Prepare your YouTube channel
- Verify the channel and check its eligibility. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days.
- Enable live streaming ahead of time. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave this until the evening you plan to start.
- Choose the streaming method. Use YouTube’s webcam route for a straightforward live camera setup, or an encoder for an external camera, prerecorded video, or more controlled production. Follow YouTube’s current instructions at Get started with live streaming.
Set up the camera and encoder for a live fireplace
Frame and test the scene
Position the camera so the fire is visible without blocking safe access to the hearth. Check the shot at night, when exposure changes can make flames too bright or the room too dark. A webcam may be enough; if you use a separate camera, confirm that its video can be sent to the chosen encoder. The available YouTube guidance supports webcam and encoder workflows but does not establish a particular camera model or settings for an overnight cabin setup.

Create the stream and enter its key
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room.
- Create or schedule the stream, then copy the server URL and stream key shown for it.
- Enter those details in the encoder’s streaming settings. Keep the stream key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your channel.
- Start the encoder and check the YouTube preview before making the stream public or beginning the scheduled broadcast.

Check your internet connection and run a full test
A stream that starts successfully can still fail overnight if the upload connection is unstable or shared with other traffic. YouTube recommends retaining about 20% upload-bandwidth headroom above the stream’s bitrate. Check the available upload capacity at the location where the stream will run, and account for other devices or backup connections using that connection.

- Test the camera or video source, encoder, audio, network and YouTube preview together—not just each component separately.
- Confirm that the preview is accessible and that picture and sound are correct. If you plan to keep a local recording, check that a test recording plays and its file is intact.
- Watch the live stream after launch for dropped connection, frozen video, missing audio or other quality problems.

Plan around YouTube’s archive limit
Continuous viewing and a complete replay are different goals. YouTube’s encoder help page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all, and DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for very long streams. Do not rely on one uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast to leave a complete replay.

- If uninterrupted viewing matters most: A single long session avoids scheduled breaks, but it carries the archive risk above.
- If a YouTube archive matters: Consider ending and restarting sessions before they reach 12 hours. That creates interruptions and separate sessions; it does not make one continuous broadcast.
- If a full recording is essential: Make and verify a local recording as well, and treat YouTube’s archive as a separate, uncertain outcome for streams over 12 hours.
