To run an Assamese folk instrumental stream on YouTube around the clock, first clear every track for the planned live broadcast and any archive, then enable YouTube Live, prepare an audio/video program, and send it through an encoder or a cloud playout service. YouTube can detect third-party music in a live stream and interrupt or terminate it, so a 24/7 schedule is an operating goal—not a guarantee of uninterrupted transmission.
Start with the rights, not the encoder
A song’s traditional or folk status does not, by itself, establish that a particular arrangement, performance, or recording is free to broadcast. An Assamese folk instrumental playlist may combine old compositions with modern arrangements and recordings made by performers or labels; those elements can involve different rights holders.
Clear each track and each intended use
For every track, identify the underlying composition or song, the arrangement, the performers, and the owner of the sound recording. Obtain written permission that covers the planned YouTube live use, relevant territories, duration, and whether the broadcast will be archived. Keep the permissions with a track list so you can identify the material quickly if a question arises.

YouTube’s Live Stream Terms and Conditions say: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licences) and any other royalty participants.” A license is important, but it does not ensure that YouTube’s automated systems will leave a live stream uninterrupted. Ask the relevant rights owner or distributor whether it can allowlist your channel in Content ID.

Think about both the live stream and its archive
In India, the Copyright Act’s definition of “communication to the public” includes making a work available for public enjoyment at times chosen by viewers. That is a reason to check rights for both the live broadcast and any on-demand copy, not a determination that a particular Assamese song, arrangement, or recording is cleared. YouTube may archive live content, but archive behavior for a continuous 24/7 broadcast can vary; do not promise viewers a complete replay unless your channel’s actual settings and results support that claim.
The Assam Directorate of Archives says its site material may be reproduced after permission and excludes material identified as third-party copyright from that permission. Government-hosted material, folk tradition, and a specific recording are not interchangeable rights categories.

Check that your channel can go live
YouTube’s Help guidance lists three prerequisites: the channel must be verified, it must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16. YouTube for Artists recommends enabling a first live stream at least 24 hours before the planned start. These requirements can change, so check the current YouTube Help and Studio prompts before scheduling a launch.

Choose the source of the music and visuals
You can produce original instrumental sessions or assemble a playlist of tracks you have cleared. Decide what viewers will see while listening—for example, a performance, a simple visual, or track information—and make sure that any artwork, photographs, titles, and on-screen text are also yours or cleared for use. A Bihu Dhol can be part of an original Assamese folk recording, but it is an optional instrument, not a streaming requirement or permission to use someone else’s music. Intellectual Property India lists Assam Bihu Dhol as a registered geographical indication for Assam, with validity through 25 October 2032; check authenticity and seller availability if you plan to buy one.

Choose an encoder-based workflow
For a produced audio/video program, use YouTube’s encoder workflow. YouTube describes encoders as suitable for external audio/video equipment and overlays, and as commonly used for concerts and conferences. The official guidance supports this workflow but does not establish one mandatory encoder or minimum computer specification.
Prepare your audio source and visual feed, then use the stream details provided in YouTube Studio to connect the encoder. Treat the stream key as a password: keep it private, enter it only in the encoder or service you intend to use, and reset it in Studio if it is exposed. Use the encoder’s settings that match your actual program and YouTube’s current Live Control Room guidance. The available guidance here does not establish a universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval, so do not copy arbitrary numbers from a different setup.

Launch the stream and check it before going public
- Enable Live early. Verify the channel and complete YouTube’s live activation steps far enough ahead to meet the recommended first-stream lead time.
- Create the live event in YouTube Studio. Choose the encoder-based stream workflow and enter the title, description, visibility, and schedule that match the broadcast. Do not describe the playlist as public-domain or licensed unless you have verified that claim.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the stream details from Studio into the encoder. Confirm that the intended audio and visual sources are selected and that the encoder is sending to the right event.
- Inspect the Live Control Room preview. Before starting publicly, check that the picture is present, audio is audible and not distorted, the program continues without gaps, and the event metadata is correct.
- Start and verify. Start the encoder and the live event as directed by Studio. Confirm that the public stream is receiving the intended program, then keep Studio available for status messages and any copyright notices.
Keep a 24/7 broadcast operating responsibly
A local encoder depends on the computer, audio/video source, power, network, and encoder remaining available. Monitor those components as well as YouTube Studio. Have a way to restart the program and a documented contact path to the music rights holders if a Content ID match appears. A long-running broadcast may encounter a network outage, device failure, or platform interruption; no setup described here guarantees continuous YouTube delivery.

- Check Live Control Room and Studio for the specific warning, claim, or restriction; do not assume every interruption has the same cause.
- If a track is identified, stop or replace the flagged material while you check the claim against your written permission and track list.
- Contact the relevant rights owner or distributor about the claim and ask whether the channel can be allowlisted. A license does not automatically prevent an automated match.
- Follow the resolution options shown by YouTube for the issue. Do not restart with the same disputed material until you understand the restriction and have a basis to use it.
