To create a 24/7 Indian lofi music stream on YouTube, clear the music and visuals for continuous livestreaming, verify your channel, build an encoder scene in OBS, create the broadcast in YouTube Studio, and test it privately before going public. A computer-based setup can run only as reliably as its computer and internet connection; YouTube does not guarantee uninterrupted streaming. 1. Check YouTube’s live-stream requirements
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Streamers must be at least 16. YouTube for Artists advises first-time streamers to verify at least 24 hours before their first stream. Review the current YouTube live-streaming requirements and YouTube for Artists guidance before scheduling.
2. Clear the music and visuals before building the stream
Use music, artwork, and animation that you made yourself or have specific permission to use in this kind of broadcast. Permission to listen to a track, download it, or use it in a short video does not by itself establish permission for a continuous livestream or its archived replay.
Confirm the rights cover your actual use
- Check that the permission covers YouTube livestreaming and continuous looping.
- Confirm territory, monetization if you plan to monetize, and whether the archived live video may remain available.
- Keep written permissions and any license terms where you can retrieve them.
- If a label or distributor controls Content ID for the music, ask it to allowlist your channel before you go live.
YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If it detects third-party material, YouTube may replace the live image with a placeholder and issue a warning; if the material remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A license does not necessarily prevent that interruption unless the rights owner has allowlisted the channel. Archived live videos may also receive Content ID claims after the stream ends. Do not rely on labels such as “copyright-free,” “no copyright,” “royalty-free,” a credit line, or availability on a music platform as proof that your planned use is covered. 3. Choose the live format and study-scene design
A horizontal scene is a natural fit for a widescreen study ambience: for example, a still illustration or subtle animation paired with your cleared lofi playlist. Vertical can be worth considering if mobile discovery in the Shorts feed is part of your plan. These are format trade-offs, not guarantees of reach.

4. Set up OBS and the broadcast

- Verify the channel. Complete YouTube verification and check that the channel has no active live-stream restriction. If following YouTube for Artists’ first-time advice, enable streaming at least 24 hours ahead.
- Prepare the media. Gather cleared music and visuals. Arrange the tracks into a continuous playlist and make the visual loop unobtrusive for people studying. Keep the rights records and any Content ID allowlist confirmation available.
- Open OBS and configure it. Use Tools > Auto-Configuration Wizard to set basic streaming options. Add an image or animation source and the cleared audio source or playlist. Check that the scene stays composed when the animation loops and that the audio does not cut out between tracks.
- Create the YouTube broadcast. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and choose its visibility and format. Connect OBS as the encoder using the stream connection details shown in YouTube Studio. Treat the stream key as private: do not share it or display it in the scene.
- Check the incoming preview. Confirm that YouTube receives the correct video and audio and that the broadcast is going to the intended channel and event. Do not make the stream public until the preview and status look right.
- Run an unlisted test. YouTube for Artists recommends an unlisted test before launch. Check the audio continuity, visual loop, destination, and stream status. A successful short test is useful but does not prove the setup will remain stable indefinitely.
- Go public and monitor. Watch the YouTube Live Control Room and OBS connection status after launch. Keep a way to respond if the encoder, computer, connection, or YouTube stream fails.
5. Keep a local stream running and plan for recovery
A local encoder setup requires the computer and network connection to remain available while the stream is live. YouTube does not promise that a stream will stay online continuously. OBS explains that dropped frames can indicate an unstable connection or one that cannot sustain the selected bitrate; investigate network stability and the configured bitrate if dropped frames recur. Use a practical monitoring and recovery checklist
- Check the OBS connection status and YouTube Live Control Room rather than leaving the stream unobserved indefinitely.
- If frames are dropping, review connection stability and the bitrate selected by OBS’s configuration, then test again before relying on the setup.
- After an interruption, check whether the encoder is still sending, whether YouTube shows the event as live, and whether the audio and picture return correctly.
- Have a restart plan for the encoder and a person or process responsible for noticing failures. Do not promise viewers nonstop uptime unless you can substantiate it.

OBS itself is free. A local setup also relies on a computer and connection that can sustain the chosen encoder and scene; the available platform guidance does not specify hardware minimums or establish a model recommendation. Assess equipment you already own before buying anything.
YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is broad platform context, not an estimate of the audience for Indian lofi, a particular channel, or viewers in India. It should not be used as a forecast for this stream.
