To convert a Google Sheet, open it on a computer and use File > Download for a spreadsheet format such as Excel, or File > Print to create a PDF. CSV export is documented for a single sheet in Google Sheets for Android; the desktop CSV scope is not established in the official help reviewed here.
Choose the format that fits what you need

Download a Google Sheet as an Excel file
- Open the spreadsheet in Google Sheets.
- Select File > Download.
- Choose the Excel format shown in the menu, then save the downloaded file.
The available choices are shown in your Sheets menu. Google’s export help identifies Download as the Sheets equivalent of Excel’s Save As and says you can download a spreadsheet for use in other programs; it does not enumerate every computer download format.
Save a Google Sheet as a PDF
- Open the spreadsheet and select File > Print.
- Under the print settings, select what to include: Workbook for the full spreadsheet, Current sheet for one tab, or Selected cells for a particular range.
- Click Next. In Firefox or Safari, Google says a PDF downloads automatically at this point; in Chrome, the browser’s print dialog opens.
- Review the print preview and complete the browser’s print or save flow.
Google’s computer print instructions also describe settings for page breaks, margins, headers and footers, orientation, and paper size. In Headers & footers, you can repeat frozen rows or columns across printed pages. For a long or wide table, preview the page breaks and orientation before saving so the output is readable.
Export a Google Sheet as CSV
Google’s Android documentation says you can export a single sheet as a CSV or TSV file. It also lists XLSX, ODS, PDF, and HTML in a ZIP among Android export formats. CSV is therefore a practical choice for exchanging the tabular data from one sheet, but the documented CSV flow does not produce a file containing every tab.

If you need several tabs, keep an Excel-format copy or export the sheets separately. That is a workaround based on the documented single-sheet limit, not a claim that Google provides a particular multi-tab CSV export feature.
For desktop CSV export, the official help referenced here does not specify whether the file contains the active tab or the whole workbook. Check the format options in your own menu and inspect the downloaded file if its scope matters.

If download or print is unavailable
A spreadsheet owner can restrict other people’s ability to download, print, or copy a file through its sharing settings. If an export or print action is missing or unavailable, ask the owner or your administrator to check your access. Google documents these controls in its Sheets collaboration help; those restrictions are one possible explanation, not necessarily the only cause.
