Yes. You can send newly published WordPress posts to your Buffer queue using the WordPress to Buffer plugin: install it, connect your Buffer account in its settings, and follow the plugin’s setup instructions. For custom workflows, Buffer also supports API and no-code automation options.
What the WordPress–Buffer integration does
Buffer’s documented WordPress integration sends newly published posts to a Buffer queue after you connect your account. That lets you manage the social post in Buffer rather than manually copying each new article into a channel. Buffer describes the integration as a third-party plugin and lists both a free route and a Pro option from WP Zinc. Buffer’s WordPress integration page provides the setup overview.
How to connect WordPress to Buffer
- In your WordPress dashboard, open Plugins > Add New and search for WordPress to Buffer. Install the plugin from the WordPress plugin directory and activate it.
- Follow the instructions on the plugin page, then open the plugin’s settings in WordPress.
- Connect your Buffer account when prompted and complete the authorization steps.
- Publish a new WordPress post and check the connected Buffer queue to confirm that it arrived.
The documented workflow is for newly published posts. The integration page does not provide a complete description of every setting, so use the plugin’s current instructions for any options shown in your installation.
Is the free plugin enough?
Buffer lists a free WordPress to Buffer plugin and a Pro version sold by WP Zinc. Buffer says Pro includes advanced features and scheduling preferences, but its integration page does not give a full feature-by-feature comparison. Check the current plugin listing to see whether a specific setting you need is included before choosing a version. Buffer’s integration listing

Choose a plugin, automation tool, or API
| Route | Best suited to | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress to Buffer plugin | Sending newly published WordPress posts to Buffer with a direct plugin setup. | Connect the Buffer account in plugin settings. The free and Pro feature details are not fully compared on Buffer’s integration page. |
| No-code automation | Workflows that connect Buffer with other services without building a custom integration. | Buffer names Zapier, Make, IFTTT, and n8n as options. Each workflow needs its own configuration. |
| Buffer API | Custom integrations or more tailored publishing workflows. | Requires API setup and must work within Buffer’s documented capabilities, channel-specific support, and media requirements. |
Buffer’s integrations directory also lists Nelio Content for editorial planning and auto-sharing WordPress posts, and Evergreen Content Poster for resharing WordPress content. The directory describes their roles but does not establish current prices. Buffer’s integrations directory
What Buffer’s API can and cannot do
Buffer describes its current API as GraphQL, with requests sent to a single endpoint. Its developer introduction lists creating, scheduling, and deleting posts; creating ideas; and retrieving posts, channels, and organization or account data. Buffer says the API is available on every plan, including Free, in its May 27, 2026 announcement; plan limits and API capabilities can change. See the API developer introduction and Buffer’s API announcement.

Buffer’s Help Center says API support does not include Start Page posting, reading or replying to comments, or full analytics. Available post metrics are described as experimental. Media must be hosted at a public URL and remain reachable until publishing. Supported channels and individual features vary; consult Buffer’s current API Help Center article before designing a workflow around a particular network or post type.

After a post reaches Buffer, Buffer’s publishing options include adding it to the next available slot, prioritizing it, choosing a custom time, or publishing immediately. Which option is appropriate depends on whether you want the post to follow your queue or go out at a particular time. Buffer explains these choices in its publishing help.
