To get a Jordanian IP address while you are outside Jordan, connect to a VPN server in Jordan using a provider whose current server list includes that country and whose plan gives you access to it. Then check the public IP country before relying on it. A Jordan endpoint changes the apparent location of traffic routed through the VPN; it does not guarantee that a particular website, bank, or streaming service will accept the connection.
What you need to connect through Jordan
- A VPN provider whose official server-location list currently includes Jordan. Proton VPN describes Jordan access on its Jordan VPN page, and NordVPN lists Jordan in its server-location inventory. Provider locations and plan access can change, so check the current list before subscribing.
- A plan that includes the Jordan location. Proton says Jordan servers are not available on its Free plan; its FAQ says, “To change your IP address and make it look like you are in Jordan, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan.” That describes Proton’s plan access, not every VPN provider’s pricing or restrictions.
- The provider’s official app for your device, plus an account with access to the selected plan.
A VPN does not need to be installed on a Jordanian router or SIM to provide a Jordanian VPN endpoint. The VPN app routes selected internet traffic through the provider’s Jordan location.
How to get a Jordanian IP address
- Choose a provider and confirm Jordan is included. Check the provider’s current official location list and the plan details. A country appearing on a provider’s site does not by itself establish that every plan can use it.
- Install the official VPN app and sign in. Proton lists apps for desktop and mobile platforms on its Jordan page. Follow the provider’s instructions for your device.
- Select Jordan in the app. Open the server list or map, choose Jordan, and connect. Proton’s instructions say to select the Jordan map marker or a Jordan server in the sidebar.
- Check the public IP country. After the connection, use a reputable IP lookup service or the destination service’s own location check to see whether the IP is identified as Jordan. A location lookup is an indication, not a guarantee of how every service will classify your connection.
- Troubleshoot if the IP does not show Jordan. Confirm that the VPN connection is active and that your plan includes Jordan. If the app offers more than one Jordan endpoint, disconnect and try another. If the issue remains, contact the provider’s support.
What a Jordanian IP can and cannot do
Proton describes its service this way: “Connect to a secure server in Jordan, and you’ll get a Jordanian IP address so you can access sites in Jordan.” This is the provider’s description of its service, not a promise that every Jordanian website will allow access.
Websites and apps set their own access rules. Banks, broadcasters, and other services may check more than the apparent IP country, may block VPN traffic, or may require account details or other evidence of location. No service-by-service compatibility tests are established here, so confirm access with the service itself rather than assuming a Jordan IP will work.

If you are physically in Jordan and want an IP address from another country, choose that other country in the VPN app instead. Connecting to Jordan is the appropriate choice when you need traffic to appear to come from Jordan.
How to compare VPN options for Jordan

Urban VPN advertises a free Chrome and Edge extension with a Jordan server and describes mobile and desktop setup on its Jordan VPN page. Those are vendor claims, not independent validation of privacy, security, or reliable access. Review its current privacy terms and extension permissions before installing; do not assume a free option is suitable for sensitive banking or account activity.

Proton and Urban VPN state on their pages that VPNs are generally legal to use in Jordan, while advising users to follow local law and service terms. Those are provider statements, not an independently verified legal conclusion. For decisions with legal consequences, consult current Jordanian law or a qualified local professional. A VPN does not make unlawful activity lawful, and it does not override the terms of the site or service you use.
