To connect Spotify to Google Maps on an iPhone, install both apps, then open Google Maps and go to profile picture or initial > Settings > Navigation > Music playback controls. Choose Spotify and complete the prompts. Once you start navigating, Spotify playback controls appear at the bottom of the map.

Open Google Maps and tap your profile picture or initial.

Tap Settings > Navigation > Music playback controls.

Select Spotify. Follow the prompts: Google’s instructions say to tap Next and then OK; Spotify’s instructions say to accept the terms to connect your account.
Google’s current iPhone/iPad instructions use the menu path above. Spotify’s support page describes the route more generally as the main menu, Navigation settings, and Music playback controls. Labels can vary by app version.

Use Spotify while navigating
Start a route in Google Maps. During navigation, the selected player’s controls appear at the bottom of the map. Use them to play, pause, skip, or change music without leaving navigation. Tap the Spotify logo for more playback options.

If Music playback controls is missing

Update Google Maps and check again. Google specifies version 26.03 or later for this feature.

Availability depends on location, so the setting may not appear in every region even after updating.
Keep your iPhone powered on longer drives
Google notes that navigation uses your phone’s location, screen, and speakers, and recommends a power adapter, especially for trips longer than 30 minutes. Charging is optional, but can help prevent the phone from running low during a long drive.
