How do I connect Galaxy Buds to my Android phone?
Charge the earbuds before pairing. Menu labels vary by phone and software, and the case controls used to enter pairing mode can vary by Buds model. If opening the case does not make the earbuds discoverable, follow the instructions for your specific model.
On a Samsung Galaxy phone
- Turn on Bluetooth and open the charged Galaxy Buds case near the phone.
- If a pairing pop-up appears, tap Connect.
- Complete any on-screen prompts. On supported setups, Samsung also describes connecting through the Galaxy Wearable app.

On another Android phone
- Open the phone’s Bluetooth settings and choose the option to pair a new device.
- Open the charged Buds case so the earbuds can enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Select Galaxy Buds from the available devices and tap Pair if prompted.
- Check the phone’s paired-device list to confirm the connection. Install Galaxy Wearable from a trusted app store if you want supported app features or device management.
Samsung’s Canada guidance says initial connection on other Android phones is made through Bluetooth settings, with Galaxy Wearable used afterward for available advanced features. Screens and feature availability may differ by phone and region.

Do I need the Galaxy Wearable app?
No app is needed for basic Bluetooth audio pairing. Galaxy Wearable is Samsung’s Android app for managing and personalizing supported Galaxy Buds features, including available settings and software updates. Samsung says connecting through the phone’s Bluetooth or connected-devices menu provides basic functionality and can limit advanced features.

How do I reconnect Galaxy Buds to a new phone?
Samsung UK’s instructions distinguish between Android versions. These are Samsung’s reconnection steps; follow the guidance for your phone’s software and exact Buds model, since steps and menus may differ.
- Android 15 or earlier: Samsung UK’s page uses Galaxy Wearable to reconnect the Buds to a new phone.
- Android 16 or later: Samsung UK says to hold the button on the Buds case, accept the phone’s connection prompt, then check the connection status in Settings.

Why won’t my Galaxy Buds connect?
Work through these checks in order. Samsung notes that troubleshooting actions can differ by model, so do not assume one model’s reset or touch-control sequence applies to every pair.
- Check charge and seating. Charge the earbuds and make sure they are seated properly in the case. If charging appears unreliable, check that the charging contacts are clean.
- Move the phone closer. Keep the devices nearby with an unobstructed signal path. Move away from possible wireless interference, such as a Wi-Fi router or a running microwave.
- Restart the Buds. Put them in the case, close it, and wait for the case light to go out before trying again. The exact procedure can differ by model.
- Remove the old pairing and pair again. In the phone’s Bluetooth settings, remove or forget the saved Buds connection, then repeat the pairing steps above.
- Check for software updates. If connection problems continue, check for updates to the connected device and the earbuds.
- Contact Samsung support. If one or both earbuds still will not connect, Samsung says service may be required.
