Connect the PS5 to the LG UN7300 with HDMI, enable HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color for that TV input, then check the PS5’s detected signal. The practical target for this TV family is 4K at up to 60 Hz—not 4K/120 Hz.
Connect the PS5 to the LG UN7300
- Connect the PS5’s HDMI output to an HDMI input on the TV. Use the HDMI cable supplied with the console if it is available and working.
- Turn on the TV and select the HDMI input you used.
- Turn on the PS5 and complete its on-screen setup.
Sony’s PS5 setup instructions cover the basic connection and startup sequence. No upgraded cable is established as necessary for this setup.
Enable the LG input’s 4K signal setting
On the LG, enable HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color for the specific HDMI port connected to the PS5. The setting is per input. The UN7300 owner-manual wording says On supports 4K at 50/60 Hz in 4:4:4, 4:2:2, and 4:2:0 formats; Off is limited to 4:2:0 at 50/60 Hz. Exact menu names and feature applicability can vary by regional model suffix, so consult the manual for your TV if the setting is named differently.
LG provides manuals for the 55UN7300PUF family. The cited Deep Color wording comes from a mirror of the 65UN7300PUF owner manual, so verify it against the manual for your exact model.

Set PS5 resolution and HDR
- On the PS5, open Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output.
- Review Current Video Output Signal. Leave Resolution set to Automatic as a starting point; the PS5 selects the highest resolution the TV reports.
- Under Video Output > HDR, choose On When Supported.
- Select Adjust HDR and follow the on-screen prompts. With On When Supported, games and apps that do not support HDR remain in SDR.
Use the PS5’s 4K resolution guide and HDR setup instructions if you need the current console menu guidance. Check the reported signal rather than assuming a setting took effect: output depends on the complete setup, including the TV input in use.
What 4K HDR to expect
The useful target for the UN7300 family is 4K at up to 60 Hz. PlayStation says 4K/120 Hz requires a compatible TV; the UN7300 documentation cited here describes 4K at 50/60 Hz, so do not expect this pairing to provide 4K/120 Hz.

At 4K HDR 50/60 Hz, the PS5 guide says the console uses YUV422 or YUV420 color format. That color-format indication is not a reduction in 4K resolution.

Troubleshoot missing HDR or unstable 4K
HDR is missing or not detected
- Confirm that the TV is on the HDMI input connected to the PS5.
- Check that HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color is enabled for that exact input.
- On the PS5, inspect Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > Current Video Output Signal.
4K output flickers or is unstable
In the PS5’s Video Output settings, try Video Transfer Rate at -1 or -2. PlayStation says limiting the output this way may improve picture stability, but it also limits some output formats. Return the setting to Automatic if the workaround is unnecessary.

A menu or setting does not match
UN7300 regional suffixes and software versions can differ. Check the owner manual for the full model number on your TV if the menu path or setting name differs.
