You can control a Daikin air conditioner from a smartphone only if its model and control hardware support an app. First identify the indoor-unit model and region, then check whether it uses a wireless LAN adapter or a compatible Daikin smart thermostat. Those routes use different apps and setup steps; there is no single Daikin app or Wi-Fi accessory that works with every system.
Find the supported control route for your Daikin system
Before downloading an app or buying an adapter, find the indoor unit’s model number on its label or paperwork and note the country where it is installed. If the system has multiple indoor units, check the relevant unit and how the controls are arranged.
Then check the model’s manual and the hardware already installed. Some documented ductless units have a wireless LAN adapter built in; others require a model-specific optional accessory. A system controlled by a compatible Daikin connected thermostat follows a different app path.
- Wireless LAN adapter: Daikin manuals for supported ductless models name the Daikin Comfort Control App. The adapter may be built in or an optional accessory, depending on the model.
- Connected thermostat: Daikin’s North American materials describe smartphone control through the Daikin One Home and SkyportHome app ecosystems for compatible thermostat setups. Confirm which app applies to the specific thermostat and region.
- Commercial system: Daikin documents separate commercial controls, including the DKN Cloud Wi-Fi Adapter for certain indoor units. Do not assume a homeowner app or ductless setup applies; consult the commercial system’s documentation.

Availability and app naming can vary by region, so check the exact equipment documentation and local app store listing.

Connect a supported wireless LAN adapter
The following sequence reflects Daikin manuals for supported adapter-equipped models; menu names and the procedure for putting the unit into setup mode vary. Use the manual for your exact model rather than copying another unit’s remote-control button sequence.
- Confirm the adapter and credentials. Check that the model supports the wireless LAN adapter and locate the adapter’s SSID and KEY. Daikin manuals say these may appear on the serial-number sticker or in unit or accessory materials.
- Prepare the network. You need a smartphone or tablet, internet service, a modem/router or other communicating device, and a wireless LAN access point. Make sure the router is powered and you know the home Wi-Fi network name and password.
- Put the adapter into wireless setup mode. Follow the model-specific remote-control or adapter instructions. The setup mode procedure is not universal.
- Join the adapter network on your phone. Open the phone’s Wi-Fi settings, select the SSID printed on the unit or adapter, and enter its matching KEY.
- Configure the home router in the app. Open Daikin Comfort Control, choose “Configure the wireless connection,” select the home router’s network, and enter its password when prompted.
- Check the adapter status and finish setup. Wait for the connection lamp to reach the state specified in the model’s manual. Return the phone to the home Wi-Fi network and complete any model-specific app login or account steps.
For example, the Atmosphera manual describes entering setup with the remote, joining the unit’s DaikinAP network with its SSID and KEY, then using “Configure the wireless connection” to select the router. It says to verify the adapter lamp changes from blinking to steadily lit. That example is specific to the documented equipment; other models may use a different procedure or indicator.
Use the app for a compatible Daikin smart thermostat
If your system is already controlled by a supported Daikin connected thermostat, follow that thermostat’s setup instructions instead of the wireless-adapter steps above. Daikin’s North American homeowner materials refer to Daikin One Home, while Daikin describes SkyportHome as an app designed for Daikin smart thermostats. Do not treat those names as interchangeable: use the app specified for your thermostat and region.

Confirm compatibility for the exact indoor unit, thermostat, app, and region before planning an installation or relying on phone control.

Fix common wireless setup problems
- The phone cannot connect to the adapter: Check that you selected the SSID printed on the unit or adapter and entered the corresponding KEY correctly.
- The adapter does not join the home network: Confirm the router or access point is powered, then check the network name and password. A Daikin engineering manual advises checking those items if the RUN lamp continues blinking for a minute or longer.
- Setup still fails: Use the reset procedure documented for the exact model, then repeat its setup process. Reset methods differ across model families.
- You are considering an external adapter: Check the model manual first. If the adapter is already built in, an external one may not be needed; if an accessory is required, its compatibility depends on the model and region.
- The model documentation does not list an app or adapter: Ask a local Daikin distributor or qualified contractor to identify a supported control option rather than assuming a generic adapter will work.
Protect access and use remote control carefully
Wireless control involves credentials. Daikin’s FTXM-V manual warns that wireless LAN transmissions may be vulnerable to eavesdropping or unauthorized access. Keep the adapter and router SSID and KEY, along with app login details, private.
Remote operation also means you may not be able to see the air conditioner, its surroundings, or people at home. Before starting or changing the system remotely, consider timers and conditions in the home, and keep the system’s status under review. These cautions are drawn from the manual for the equipment it covers; consult your own model’s instructions for its specific guidance.
Choose between adapter and thermostat control
If more than one supported route appears possible, compare what is installed and documented before comparing app features.
