If a Forza Horizon 6 Treasure Hunt clue or chest is not registering, start with the active Treasure Hunt in the current Festival Playlist, follow that hunt’s clue and route, and smash its chest. If the chest breaks but the Playlist challenge remains incomplete, check for the current game update and report the exact failure through the official Forza Feedback Portal. Old walkthrough locations and generic restart advice are not confirmed fixes for a current hunt.
First, confirm which Treasure Hunt you are doing
Open the current Festival Playlist and select its active Treasure Hunt entry. Use the hunt name and its photo clue as your reference; a guide for an earlier hunt may describe a different chest location and route. For example, dated guides for the Ohtani and Tokyo City hunts describe their own clue-specific chests, and the Tokyo route involved ramps and rooftop jumps rather than simply driving to a map marker. Those examples do not identify where a current chest is or how to reach it. Forza Horizon 6’s official game page is the starting point for official game information.
Follow the clue, reach the chest, and break it
- Check the Playlist entry. Make sure you selected the current Treasure Hunt challenge, rather than another activity with a similar name.
- Interpret that hunt’s photo clue. Use the clue associated with the active entry. Do not substitute an old guide’s coordinates or location.
- Reach the chest by the route the clue implies. Some hunts may require a particular approach or access route; a map pin alone may not get you to the chest.
- Smash the chest. Dated Ohtani and Tokyo City guides describe breaking the chest as the action that completes those specific hunts. Check whether the chest visibly breaks, then check the Playlist challenge status.
If the chest breaks but the Playlist still says incomplete
Verify that the game is up to date for your platform before treating the failure as a known bug. Playground Games’ June 15, 2026 Series 2 announcement said the update included fixes for Festival Playlist challenge completion. That confirms such fixes have been included in an update; it does not establish that every current Treasure Hunt registration failure has the same cause or that the update resolves all of them. The announcement described rollout on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC through the Xbox app and Steam. For your installed build, check the current platform-specific update or support channel.
The available sources do not establish a universal restart, cache-clearing, or network workaround for a clue or chest that will not register. Avoid assuming those steps will resolve the issue.

Do not confuse a Playlist hunt with other treasure activities
A third-party explainer distinguishes Festival Playlist Treasure Hunts from permanent Treasure Cars and the paid Treasure Map add-on. The Treasure Map is described as revealing collectible locations, not completing a weekly Playlist hunt. These descriptions are not an official guarantee of every mechanic, so identify the exact activity shown in your current game before reporting what failed. A claim about a reported symptom or a weekly rollover is not, by itself, a verified explanation or fix for a registration problem.
