In YouTube Studio, compare the livestream’s Supers revenue with its estimated ad revenue for the same video and the same dates. Supers includes Super Chat and related features; ad revenue is a separate category. Treat the figures as estimates until YouTube adjusts and finalizes them.

Super Chat and other Supers
Super Chat is a viewer purchase that highlights a message in live chat during a livestream or Premiere. In Analytics, it is part of Supers reporting, which also covers related Supers features. YouTube says creators receive 70% of confirmed Supers revenue after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees are deducted; YouTube currently covers transaction costs such as credit-card fees. Replay advertising
A replay is the video available after a livestream ends. Ads served during playback can generate ad revenue, which Analytics reports separately from Supers. YouTube notes that ad slots are not guaranteed to serve: delivery depends on its ad systems and other factors. YouTube Help: Monetize your live stream

For this comparison, “replay earnings” means advertising revenue from playback, not the original live-chat purchases. A replay does not turn Super Chats into playback ad revenue; they remain different revenue categories.

Compare the figures in YouTube Studio
- Open the revenue report. In YouTube Studio, go to Analytics, then select Revenue. Locate the separate Supers and estimated ad revenue measures. Revenue reporting distinguishes Supers from estimated ad revenue. YouTube Help: Manage YouTube Super Chat & Super Stickers for Live Chat
- Choose the livestream’s video. Use the video-level report for the stream’s video ID. YouTube’s live-stream analytics can distinguish Live, On demand, and Live & on demand playback. If the report exposes the replay playback category, select it for replay ad revenue; if it does not, compare revenue types for the same video and common date range rather than mixing video or time periods. YouTube Help: See your live stream’s metrics
- Set identical dates for both measures. Choose the same start and end dates for Supers and estimated ad revenue. If you want replay-only ad earnings, use the available on-demand playback breakdown; do not compare a lifetime Supers total against only a few days of replay ads.
- Keep units and status aligned. Compare monetary amounts in the same currency and for the same period. Label estimates as estimates, and note the report date. Supers and estimated ad revenue are not necessarily at the same stage of adjustment.
- Recheck after YouTube adjusts estimates. YouTube says estimated earnings may be adjusted about a week after they are generated and again in the middle of the following month as earnings are finalized. Adjustments can reflect invalid traffic, Content ID claims or disputes, and certain ad campaign types. Your agreement and final payment records govern your individual earnings. Calculate a ratio only if it helps
You can calculate replay estimated ad revenue ÷ Supers revenue to see how the two amounts compare for the selected video and dates. This is your own arithmetic, not a YouTube-defined performance metric. State the date range and whether each amount is estimated so the ratio is interpretable.
Do not substitute RPM for either amount. RPM combines revenue sources—including ads, YouTube Premium, memberships, Super Chat, and Super Stickers—and divides by views. It therefore does not isolate replay ads or Super Chat. YouTube Help: Understand ad revenue analytics

Why the result can change or differ between streams
- Different audience behavior: Supers depend on viewers choosing to make purchases; replay ad revenue depends on ad delivery and playback.
- Ads may not serve on every opportunity: YouTube does not guarantee an ad for each slot.
- Estimates can be revised: Invalid traffic, Content ID matters, and some campaign types can affect reported estimates.
- Reporting windows matter: A live-only, on-demand-only, or combined playback view can produce a different comparison. Keep video ID, dates, playback category, and estimate status in view.
Keep a clean comparison record
For a useful note or spreadsheet, record the video, date range, playback category, Supers amount, estimated ad revenue, currency, and the date you checked the report. Update the figures after YouTube’s later estimate adjustments rather than silently comparing an early estimate with a settled amount.
