Available benchmark data favors the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 over the standard Dimensity 7400 in some tests, but it does not establish a controlled comparison with the Dimensity 7400-Ultra. Qualcomm’s performance percentages compare its chip with its own predecessor, while the Ultra-specific Geekbench results currently cited are from one Xiaomi phone configuration. Treat scores as clues, not a definitive ranking of every phone using either chip.
What the official specifications establish
Qualcomm describes the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 as a mobile platform built around a Kryo CPU, Adreno GPU and Hexagon NPU, with gaming, imaging and connectivity features. Its platform page provides the feature overview, but does not provide a direct specification comparison with the Dimensity 7400-Ultra.
For the MediaTek chip, Xiaomi’s India product page identifies the REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G as using the “MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra” and describes it as a TSMC 4 nm processor. That confirms an actual Ultra-branded handset implementation; it is not a full, independent specification sheet for the chip. MediaTek’s official page covers the baseline Dimensity 7400, including platform features such as HyperEngine, camera and AI capabilities. Those baseline details should not automatically be treated as specifications for the Ultra variant.

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 on May 15, 2025, claiming a 27% increase in CPU performance, 30% faster GPU graphic renderings and a 65% improvement to AI performance. These are Qualcomm’s comparisons with its predecessor, not measurements against either the standard Dimensity 7400 or the 7400-Ultra. See Qualcomm’s launch announcement for the stated gains.

Benchmark results: what can and cannot be compared
NanoReview’s comparison reports aggregate results for Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and the standard Dimensity 7400. The figures below are crowd-sourced device aggregates, not results from a controlled test of matched phones. NanoReview reported sample counts of 38 and 91, respectively, for the AnTuTu 11 scores; the page does not state sample counts for the 3DMark scores.
| Benchmark | Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 | Dimensity 7400 | What the figures mean |
|---|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 11 | 1,329,936 (38 reported tests) | 953,150 (91 reported tests) | NanoReview aggregates; the MediaTek entry is the standard 7400, not the 7400-Ultra. |
| 3DMark Steel Nomad Light | 667 | 406 | NanoReview comparison; the MediaTek entry is the standard 7400, not the 7400-Ultra. |
These results favor the Snapdragon in these particular aggregate comparisons, but they do not prove that it will outperform every phone with a Dimensity 7400-Ultra. The comparison is available on NanoReview’s benchmark page.

For the Ultra-branded chip, Notebookcheck lists Geekbench 6.7 scores of 1,050 single-core and 2,939 multi-core for an 8 GB Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G configuration. Those are results associated with that handset configuration, not guaranteed chip-wide scores or a matched Geekbench comparison against a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 phone. See Notebookcheck’s Dimensity 7400-Ultra listing.
Which chip should you choose?
The available evidence does not justify naming a universal winner between Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and Dimensity 7400-Ultra. Snapdragon leads in the cited NanoReview aggregates against the standard Dimensity 7400, but the exact Ultra-to-Snapdragon comparison has not been established by those results. Qualcomm’s headline percentage gains also cannot settle the matchup because their baseline is an earlier Qualcomm platform.

If you are choosing between phones, compare the complete devices rather than relying on processor names alone:
- Verify the exact chip variant. Distinguish Dimensity 7400 from Dimensity 7400-Ultra, and confirm the processor in the specific phone model and market.
- Compare like-for-like tests. Use the same benchmark and version, and note the phone model, memory configuration and test source.
- Consider sustained use. Cooling, firmware and power limits affect how a phone performs under a long gaming or workload session; a peak synthetic score does not describe that behavior by itself.
- Weigh the rest of the phone. Battery behavior, display, cameras, software support, price and local configuration can matter as much as the SoC label.
Xiaomi’s India page is a useful example of a real Dimensity 7400-Ultra handset, but its processor identification alone does not make it a matched-device comparison with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 phone: REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G specifications.
