There is no single switch that clears watch history across streaming services. You have to use the account or profile controls for the service where you watched the title—and first decide whether you want to delete viewing activity, remove a tile from Continue Watching, or clear data stored on a device. Those actions are not interchangeable.
Choose the result you want
- Delete watch history: Removes recorded viewing activity through the service’s account or activity controls, when that option is available.
- Remove a Continue Watching tile: Takes a title out of a resume row. It does not, by itself, establish that the service’s viewing history has been erased.
- Clear device cache or data: Troubleshoots locally stored app data. It does not establish that account-level viewing activity was deleted.
- Remove a title from a Watchlist or My Stuff: Changes a manually saved list, not the record of what you watched.
Each service keeps its own controls. The steps and availability below are based on official help information checked October 7, 2026; interfaces may vary by device, region, and account state.
YouTube: delete, pause, or automatically delete activity
For a signed-in account, open Google My Activity’s YouTube History controls, then select Manage history. You can remove an individual video, delete a selected group or period, pause history, or configure Auto-delete.

- Pause: Stops videos watched while history is paused from appearing in the history. It does not delete entries already recorded.
- Auto-delete: Sets automatic deletion for future history according to the available control.
YouTube also documents pause and clear options in Settings on TV and gaming-console interfaces. The exact labels differ by surface, so use the web route above when you need the account activity controls.

Netflix: view a profile’s activity
Netflix’s documented route is through a web browser: open the Account page, go to Profiles, select a profile, then open Viewing activity. Select Show More to expand the limited list, or Download all to export activity to a CSV-compatible spreadsheet.
Netflix’s cited help page documents viewing and downloading activity, but does not establish a current removal workflow or how long a change takes to appear. If the account is no longer active, Netflix says viewing history can be accessed by downloading account information.

Hulu also offers broader profile-clearing controls through account privacy activity settings. Clearing profiles affects profile-associated watch history, preferences, and settings, except for the primary profile. Deleting a profile is irreversible, so this is not an appropriate substitute for removing one title.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Disney+: don’t confuse device data with viewing history
The available Disney+ help pages cover clearing device cache and data, managing a Watchlist, and device management—not deleting viewing history. Disney+ describes the Watchlist as a manually saved list and distinguishes it from Continue Watching. Its cache guidance is for temporary device-data troubleshooting; clearing cache, removing a Watchlist title, or logging out of a device should not be treated as proof that account watch history was erased. A direct history-removal control is not confirmed by the cited pages.

No authoritative Apple support instructions for clearing Apple TV+ watch history are established here. Check Apple’s current support information for your device and account before taking action; do not assume that removing a title from a viewing row or clearing device data deletes account history.
Quick Recap
Check the scope and side effects first
- One title versus a date range or all activity: Confirm what the control removes before applying it.
- Existing entries versus future collection: Deleting history removes recorded activity; pausing or automatic deletion governs collection or retention instead.
- Account controls versus in-app rows: A profile activity page or history dashboard is different from a Continue Watching or Watchlist action.
- Related data: YouTube’s selected-period deletion also removes search history for that period. Hulu’s profile-wide clearing affects associated preferences and settings as well as watch history.
