How to Claim PlayStation Store Games on PS5, PS4, Web, and App

To claim a PlayStation Store game, use the route that matches how you got it: redeem a 12-digit voucher, add a PlayStation Plus Monthly Game to your library, or download a game you already own. Voucher content goes to the account that redeems it; Plus Monthly Games require an active membership to play.

Choose the right way to claim the game

These are distinct entitlements. A game in the Game Catalog or Classics Catalog is available according to the relevant Plus tier and can leave the service; catalog access is not the same as owning a purchase. See PlayStation Plus games and catalogs.

Redeem a 12-digit PlayStation Store voucher

Sign in to the account that should receive the game, add-on, wallet funds, or other voucher content. Sony says the credit or content is applied to that account, and it cannot be transferred to another account. Voucher codes are single-use and must match the account’s country or region.

Web: Open PlayStation Store, select your profile/avatar, choose Redeem Code, enter the 12-digit code, and continue.
PS5: Open PlayStation Store, press Triangle to open the menu, select … (More) > Redeem Code, enter the code, and select Redeem. Choose Download if offered, or download it later from your library.
PS4: Open PlayStation Store, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar, select Redeem Codes, enter the code, and confirm. Continue to Download if offered.
PlayStation App: Select the PS Store icon, open the menu, choose Redeem Code, enter the code, and continue.

Voucher codes can cover games and add-ons, in-game currency or items, season passes, subscription services, and wallet balance. A 10-digit discount code is different: apply it at checkout rather than in the voucher redemption flow. Some subscription vouchers may require a valid payment method. For wallet funds, a PlayStation Store gift card must match your account’s region.

Claim a PlayStation Plus Monthly Game

Monthly Games are new offers added each calendar month for PlayStation Plus members. Claim the game through the Monthly Games area while it is offered; an active membership is needed to play it.

PS5: From Games home, open PlayStation Plus > Benefits > Monthly Games, choose a game, then select Download.
PS4: Open PlayStation Plus > Monthly Games, highlight the game, then select Add to Library > Download.
Web or PlayStation App: Sony also allows selecting Monthly Games for remote download through a browser or the app.

Do not confuse the Monthly Games offer with the Game Catalog or Classics Catalog. Catalog access depends on the applicable subscription tier, and some catalog games have end dates and leave the service.

Download a game already in your library

If you bought or previously claimed the game on the account you are using, find it in that account’s library and download it. The labels vary by device:

Web: Sign in, open profile/avatar > Game Library > Purchased, select the game, then choose Download.
PS5: Open Games home > Game Library > Your Collection, select the game, then choose Download.
PS4: Open Library > Purchased, select the game, then choose Download.
PlayStation App: Open the Game Library icon, choose Purchased, select the game, then choose Download to Console.

Remote downloading needs an eligible linked console and the appropriate settings. Sony says web downloads require a PS5 signed in with the account or a PS4 activated as the primary PS4. For app downloads, link the console; remote setup may also require automatic downloads. You can download locally from the console library instead.

If a code fails or a game is missing

Check the code type: Voucher redemption uses a 12-digit code. A 10-digit discount code belongs at checkout.
Check region and validity: The voucher’s country or region must match the PlayStation account. Confirm it has not expired or already been used; some codes have an expiry date.
Confirm the account: Content belongs to the account that redeemed the code. If a game is missing, check that account’s Purchased or Collection library and transaction history.
Refresh the account view: If redeemed content does not appear, restart the console, sign out and back in to the account used for redemption, then check the transaction details.
Account for child restrictions: Plus benefits may be limited by age ratings and parental controls. Wallet top-up vouchers must be redeemed by the family manager, who can set a child spending limit.
