How to Claim PS Plus Monthly Games on PS5 or PS4

To claim a PlayStation Plus Monthly Game, open the Monthly Games section on your PS5 or PS4 and select the game while it is available. On PS5, choose Download; on PS4, choose Add to Library, then Download. You can also start a download remotely in a web browser or the PlayStation App.

Who can claim PlayStation Plus Monthly Games?

Monthly Games are included with PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium. You do not need Extra or Premium solely to claim a Monthly Game. Sony describes them as games available to download and play at no extra cost during an active PlayStation Plus membership. See PlayStation Plus for plan details.

Monthly Games are separate from the Game Catalog, which is available with Extra and Premium, and the Classics Catalog, which is a Premium benefit. Those catalogs have their own eligibility and changing lineups; a catalog title is not the same as a Monthly Game. Sony outlines the distinctions on its PlayStation Plus support page.

Claim a Monthly Game on PS5

From the Games home screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
Open the Benefits tab, then select Monthly Games.
Highlight a listed game and select Download.

PlayStation’s official guide to accessing PlayStation Plus games lists this PS5 path. Selecting Download starts installation on the console.

Claim a Monthly Game on PS4

From the function screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
Select Monthly Games.
Highlight a listed game and select Add to Library, then Download to install it.

On PS4, Add to Library is the claim action in the menu flow; Download is the next step if you want to install the game now.

Start the download remotely

If you are away from your console, PlayStation says you can start a selected game’s download through a web browser or the PlayStation App. The official PlayStation Plus games guide links to separate browser and app instructions. The menu labels and steps for those routes are not detailed here, so follow the linked guide for the relevant device.

Check the current games and claim window

PlayStation adds new Monthly Games each calendar month, and the available lineup and claim window change. Check the Monthly Games section in your own PlayStation Store or account for the titles currently listed in your region rather than relying on a title list from another month or region.
