Start with the size chart and fit note on the exact adidas Originals band shirt you plan to buy—not a chart from another collaboration. adidas US says most men’s Originals T-shirts fit true to size, but also advises checking the individual product because cut and fabric can change the fit.
Which size chart should you use?
Use the chart attached to the exact shirt, on the regional product page where you will buy it. adidas does not provide one chart that covers every band collaboration, market, gender block, and type of apparel. The sizes and labels offered can differ between regional listings.
For example, adidas US’s general men’s chart is a useful starting point, but it is a body-measurement chart—not a set of finished-shirt measurements. A band-specific product may have its own chart and fit note, which should take precedence for that item.
How to measure before ordering
- Find the product guidance. Open the shirt’s listing, select the market where you will purchase it, and check its size chart and fit description.
- Measure your chest or bust. Wrap a tape around the widest part of your torso, keeping it level.
- Measure your waist and hips. Measure the waist at its narrowest point and the hips at their widest point, with your feet close together.
- Check height or inseam if relevant. adidas includes vertical measurements for apparel where they apply; follow the instructions on the chart for that product.
- Compare your measurements with the product’s chart. Match the measurement ranges, rather than relying on the letter size you normally wear.

How the fit description changes your choice
Read the cut guidance as well as the chart. The product pages show why a general “true to size” rule is not enough:

If your measurements sit between sizes, consider both the listed cut and the silhouette you want: a closer fit or more room. There is no single between-size rule established for every band shirt. If the listing has no usable chart or fit guidance, ask the retailer to confirm rather than assuming another adidas chart applies.
