A 27-inch OLED monitor will fit a desk arm only if its mounting pattern, weight in the intended mounting configuration, and housing clearance all match the arm—and the arm’s clamp or grommet suits your desk. Screen size alone does not establish compatibility. Check those details before comparing movement, cable management, or other conveniences.
Check the monitor before shopping
Find the exact model number on the monitor or its settings, then consult its manufacturer specifications or manual. Record its VESA pattern and weight with the stand removed, if that measurement is provided. Also check whether the mounting holes are recessed or obstructed by the rear housing; an arm’s VESA pattern can match while its plate still fails to clear the monitor.
- VESA pattern: This is the spacing between the mounting holes, typically stated in millimeters. Match it to the arm’s supported pattern. Do not assume every 27-inch display uses the same pattern or has standard, unobstructed mounting holes.
- Mounted weight: Use the monitor’s weight in the configuration you will actually mount. Do not substitute a listed shipping weight or a figure whose measurement basis is unclear.
- Adapter needs: Check whether the monitor requires a model-specific adapter. Compatibility is not established by size or VESA pattern alone.
For example, CORSAIR’s XENEON 27QHD240 OLED guide specifies 100 × 100 mm VESA compatibility and instructs users to attach a compatible mount only after confirming weight and size support. It also lists the monitor at 9.9 kg, but does not identify that figure as weight without the stand. Do not compare 9.9 kg to an arm’s limit as though it were the mounting weight unless CORSAIR confirms that basis; check the guide or official specifications for the relevant figure.

Match VESA and weight to the arm
An arm must support the monitor’s hole pattern and keep its mounted weight within the arm’s stated minimum and maximum. A higher maximum does not make an arm universally better: the monitor must also meet the minimum, and desk attachment and movement requirements still have to work.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance tests. Published dimensions and limits are model-specific; confirm the current specification for the exact arm variant before buying. A screen-size claim is not a substitute for checking VESA and weight. For instance, the AOC AS110D0’s 9 kg maximum would not accommodate a 9.9 kg mounted monitor—but the CORSAIR figure above is not identified as stand-removed weight, so it cannot establish that particular fit.
Make sure the desk attachment is suitable
Check how the arm mounts and whether the desk edge, underside, thickness, and material are compatible. Clamp and grommet mounting are not interchangeable in every setup: a grommet mount needs an appropriate hole, while a clamp needs a usable edge and enough clearance beneath it.

Limits vary by model. ASUS lists 10–80 mm desk thickness for clamp mounting and 0–45 mm for grommet mounting on the AAS01R. BenQ lists 10–50 mm for BSL-series arms. Those ranges do not describe other arms; check the exact product’s instructions and verify that the clamp or grommet can seat securely on your desk.
Desk material matters as well as thickness. For BSL-series installation, BenQ recommends a reinforcement plate for hollow-core or honeycomb desks, MDF, easily dented desks, and glass surfaces. That is BenQ’s guidance for its products, not a universal engineering standard. If the desk surface is fragile or its construction is uncertain, consult the desk and arm manufacturers before clamping it.

Choose movement that suits your setup
Compare the adjustment you will actually use: height, reach, tilt, swivel, and pivot or rotation. Published ranges show what the arm claims to allow, but do not tell you whether its range will place your screen comfortably in your particular room and desk layout. Consider the monitor’s position relative to your chair, nearby wall, and other displays.
- Height: Check the stated travel or adjustment range against the height you need.
- Reach: Compare extension with the distance from the desk edge where the screen must sit.
- Tilt and swivel: Look for the directions and degree ranges that suit your viewing angle and seating position.
- Pivot or rotation: Verify that rotation is supported if you want portrait orientation, and check for a rotation stop if accidental turning would be a problem.
The AOC AS110D0 publishes height, extension, tilt, swivel, and pivot figures; the BenQ BSL01 publishes height, extension, tilt, and rotation. Compare those specifications with your layout rather than treating a larger range as automatically preferable.

Check installation details and final fit
Once VESA, mounted weight, and desk attachment are plausible, review the manufacturer’s instructions for the smaller compatibility details. Check whether the VESA plate is quick-release, whether tension can be adjusted, how cables are routed, and whether rotation can be limited. These features are useful only if specified for the exact model; do not infer them from the arm’s appearance or product category.
