Choose Knight if you value staying power and protecting allies, Mage if you want magical attacks with healing and support options, or Archer if you prefer physical damage and critical-hit effects. There is no evidence here for a universal best class: the detailed skill examples come from 7Road pages dated November 2021, and Wartune Ultra has since adjusted class skills. Check the current in-game descriptions before committing to a specific build.
Compare the classes by what you enjoy doing
The table is a role-matching guide, not a performance ranking. The skill examples come from official 7Road post-knighthood references and may not match every detail of the current Wartune Ultra build.

Choose Knight for defense and party protection
Knight is the natural match if you like absorbing pressure or helping allies survive. The 7Road Knight reference includes Fidelity, a party shield, and Blade Barrier, a party-wide damage-reduction skill, as well as blocking-related passives. It also lists attacks against different enemy rows, so Knight combines defensive tools with offense rather than functioning only as a protector. These are examples from the dated reference; check the current Ultra skill descriptions for the abilities available to your character.
Choose Mage for magic damage with support options
Mage suits players who want magical attacks and appreciate having healing or defensive support available. The 7Road reference includes attacks against one enemy or the whole enemy group, plus healing options such as Healing Hands and Brightly Shining and a party-shield effect. Those examples suggest flexibility between damage and support; they do not establish current skill values or require a dedicated healer role.

Choose Archer for physical damage and critical-hit effects
Archer is a good preference match if you enjoy physical attacks and effects tied to critical hits. The 7Road reference lists Aimed Shot against one target, Multi Shot against two random enemies, and heavier single-target attacks such as Fatal Strike and Raid Shot. It also describes critical-hit-triggered effects that can aid party recovery or increase party damage. That makes Archer an appealing option for players who like focused attacks and crit synergy, but it is not evidence of a damage ranking.
Check current skills before treating a class description as a build guide
Class mechanics have changed over time. Wartune Ultra’s Patch V1.11, dated April 8, 2024, adjusted skills for all three classes, including Mage’s Damnation and Purification, Archer’s Scatter Shot and Poison Arrow, and Knight’s Intercept, Delphic Destroyer, and Indomitable. The detailed class references cited above are dated November 2021, so their examples should not be read as a guarantee of current availability, coefficients, or balance. Review the live skill descriptions in your game before choosing a build.

Class Mastery also broadens later options without erasing the initial choice. Wartune Ultra Patch V2.1.1, dated November 4, 2024, introduced Class Mastery at level 55: its notice says players can study codices from other classes, learn some other-class skills, and place active skills from other classes on the battle skill bar. The notice does not say that classes can be freely changed or that class choice stops mattering.

- Choose Knight if party protection, mitigation, and personal durability matter most to you.
- Choose Mage if you want magical attacks and the option to heal or support allies.
- Choose Archer if you prefer physical attacks, critical-hit effects, and focused target options.
- If a specific skill or exact current balance is decisive, compare its in-game description rather than relying on older skill pages.
For current update dates, see the Wartune Ultra official site. The relevant notices are Patch V1.11 and Patch V2.1.1. The dated 7Road references are Knight skills, Mage skills, and Archer skills.
