To choose a print size in Google Photos, start a print order, select a photo, use the size control to choose an option offered in your region, then edit the crop and check the order preview before checkout. Match the print’s shape to the part of the image you want to keep, and be cautious about enlarging a photo Google flags as low-resolution: it may print blurry.
Choose a size and check the crop in Google Photos

In Google Photos on a computer or Android device, select one or more photos and start a photo print order. You can also start from an album. See Google’s instructions for computer or Android.

Review the order preview. Before placing the order, Google Photos lets you edit photos and change the print size or quantity.

Use the size control shown with the photo, select an available size, and apply it. The choices depend on your country and whether you choose shipping or a pickup option.

Edit or crop the image if needed. Frame it so the subject and any important details remain inside the print’s shape; do not assume the entire original image will fit unchanged.

Inspect the preview with the selected size before checkout. If ordering a canvas, check the crop with the wrap option you intend to use: Google says a cropped photo can look different depending on the wrap.

Choose a size that suits both the image and its destination
Start with the composition
Compare the print’s shape with the image framing. If a different shape cuts into the subject or removes details you want, adjust the crop in the order flow and inspect the preview again. The preview—not the original image alone—is the useful check of what will be printed.
Consider where you will display it
A smaller print may suit an album or desk frame; a larger one may suit a larger display. Choose based on the space and on whether the image still looks acceptable at that size. Google warns that low-resolution images may print blurry, even though it may still let you proceed with the order.

Google’s cited help pages do not give a universal pixel threshold for each print size. Without checking the image’s dimensions and the order preview, there is no reliable basis to promise that a particular photo will look sharp at a particular size.
Check which print sizes are available in your region
These are the sizes listed on Google Photos Help’s regional product pages, current product information accessed in 2026. They are not a guarantee that every option will appear for every order: check the size menu in your own print flow.

Google’s US page lists matte finish for home-delivery prints. For pickup, it lists glossy prints at CVS and Walgreens and matte prints at Walmart. The US page also gives maximum quantities by size; delivery times and quantity limits vary by size and country. Check the applicable regional page for current details: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, or Germany. Google lists shipped prints in Canada, the UK, the US, and EU countries; pickup availability is more limited.

Google says a low-resolution warning does not necessarily prevent you from ordering, but the resulting print may be blurry. Treat the warning as a reason to reconsider a large size: choose a smaller option if it better suits the image, and inspect the preview before checkout. Google’s guidance does not define a pixel-per-size rule, so the warning and preview are more useful than assuming a specific size will be sharp.
Check the crop separately for canvas prints
Canvas has an additional framing consideration: the selected wrap affects how the image is cropped around the edges. Google’s canvas guidance identifies a 1.5-inch (3.81 cm) gallery-style wrap and advises previewing because the crop can look different depending on the option.
