Choose a Monk setup in Deskrawl: Idle ARPG by building a loop that sustains its attacks and stays alive—not by chasing one supposedly best skill or item. No reviewed guide offers a controlled comparison proving a universal best Monk build. Treat the recommendations below as unofficial starting points, then judge them by your own clear speed, mana downtime, and survival.
Start with a practical early-game setup
A recent MobilesTalk guide proposes Threefold Strike as the basic attack and Sacred Judgment as the strong attack. It presents these as an accessible start, not a benchmarked best-in-slot combination. As you unlock more skills and gear, reassess whether the pair still suits your level, mana sustain, enemies, and play style.
For a more connected later-game direction, an unofficial Hundred Hands build guide describes a dodge-and-basic-attack loop. Its individual mechanics and set effects are guide-reported rather than confirmed by a developer-published Monk reference, so check the current in-game descriptions before investing around them.

Hundred Hands and dodge synergy
The Hundred Hands guide links several choices into one proposed engine:
#1 Best Overall
- Features characters, monsters, and scenery from the Dungeons & Dragons universe
- Little to no assembly required
- Primed and ready to paint
- Some miniatures include translucent parts
- Furious Fist: the guide recommends it for rapid basic attacks and stacking.
- Dodge Chance and Formless: dodge supports the guide’s critical-damage payoff from Formless.
- Zephyr’s Flow: the guide says dodges help recover mana.
- Mirror Steps: the guide describes physical damage after dodging.
- Hundred Hands: the guide says the set boosts basic attacks and Furious Fist stacking, and lets Golden Palms be used without its usual mana burden.
This is a synergy proposal, not proof that each component is optimal or that the set effect works identically in every current game version. Its appeal is coherence: attacks, dodges, damage, and mana recovery are intended to reinforce one another. If your character spends too much time out of mana, or takes too much damage while relying on dodges, the loop is not working well for your situation.
Use the early setup as a comparison point
Threefold Strike with Sacred Judgment is a separate recommendation, not a required stepping stone into Hundred Hands. Compare it with your later options when they unlock. A strong hit may suit a different situation from a fast basic-attack engine, and the guides do not establish which clears faster across characters, enemies, or idle conditions.

Talent routes are guide-specific
The Destructoid guide lays out a proposed route using Agility, Flurry, Mirror Steps, Zephyr’s Flow, Fundamentals, Gathered Force, Vigor, Heavy Hands, Enhance Spirit Twin, Enhance Golden Palms, Exploit Weakness, and Formless. That is one guide’s allocation, not an official level-by-level recommendation. Check the live talent descriptions and your available points before following it, especially if your unlocked skills or gear differ.

The Hundred Hands guide suggests the following affix directions. Use them as a way to evaluate drops, not as a verified ranking of every affix’s value. Prefer items that support the skills you actually use while keeping your character stable.
Rank #3
- Comes with highly-detailed figures
- Pre-primed with Acrylicos Vallejo primer and includes deep cuts for easier painting.
- The packaging of each different set will display the minis in a visible format.
- Some miniatures include translucent parts
| Slot | Guide-suggested affix direction |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Weapon Damage, Physical Damage, Basic Attack Damage, Critical Strike Damage, Attack Speed |
| Helmet | Dodge Chance, cooldown reduction, health, armor |
| Chest armor | Dodge, damage reduction, health, Magic Resistance |
| Gloves | Critical stats, Attack Speed, dodge |
| Boots | Movement Speed, dodge, health, resistance |
| Jewelry | Critical stats, Physical Damage, Dexterity |
Prioritize offense that matches your attacks
If your setup depends on frequent basic attacks, compare Attack Speed and Basic Attack Damage alongside weapon and Physical Damage. If it leans on critical hits, Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage are relevant candidates. The guide lists these as useful directions, but does not provide controlled values showing how much one affix outperforms another.
Keep the engine running
Dodge Chance, cooldown reduction, and mana-related skill synergy matter only insofar as they help your chosen loop stay active. Movement Speed can also support clearing and repositioning. If a damage-focused item leaves the character unable to sustain skills or move through encounters reliably, its paper offense may not translate into smoother progression.
Rank #4
- Highly Detailed
- Ready to Paint
- Durable
Protect against damage dodging cannot solve
The Hundred Hands guide cautions that ground poison, lingering area effects, and other unavoidable damage still require health, resistance, movement, and sensible skill choices. A dodge-centered setup is not a substitute for survival stats. When unattended runs fail to last, compare health, armor, damage reduction, and resistances before adding more offense.
Think about account-wide progression too
Destructoid’s Monk guide recommends these priorities in the account-wide Life Skills tree: Item Find, Gold Find, XP Gain, Revive Cooldown, and Carriage Unlocks. It also highlights Dexterity, Movement Speed, Max Health percentage, Critical Strike Chance, Critical Strike Damage, and Attack Speed as useful character priorities. These are categories from one guide, not a universal point order or a controlled weighting. Consider whether your current bottleneck is damage, movement and clear time, survival, item acquisition, or downtime, then allocate accordingly.

Adjust for active clearing or unattended farming
Deskrawl is a PC idle ARPG; its Steam page describes equipment, heroes, minions, and abilities as progression features. The store lists the full-game release as September 28, 2026. See the Steam store listing for official game and release information.
- While actively clearing: try skill combinations that let you respond to encounter demands, and watch whether the dodge or attack loop actually stays active.
- For unattended farming: prioritize a run that remains stable over time. Check whether it survives lingering or unavoidable damage and whether mana downtime interrupts attacks.
- After a meaningful unlock or gear change: compare clear stability, mana downtime, and survivability again rather than assuming an older guide route remains the best fit.
These are comparison criteria, not claims that one setup has been tested to outperform another. No reviewed source reports a controlled Monk damage or idle-clear benchmark.
Quick Recap
A short checklist for your next change
- Identify the problem you want to solve: slow damage, mana downtime, fragile unattended runs, or slow movement.
- Check whether the skill combination and gear affixes address that problem as one loop, rather than adding unrelated offensive stats.
- Change a skill or an affix when the setup fails to sustain mana or survive unavoidable damage.
- Reassess after new skills or gear unlock; judge the result by your actual run stability and downtime.
