Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor a mostly static, long-duration YouTube stream from Streamlabs Mobile, start with 720p at 30 fps and about 3 Mbps using H.264. YouTube recommends that bitrate for 720p30 live ingestion. Test the actual phone, scene, audio, and connection before increasing quality: try 1080p30 at YouTube’s recommended 5 Mbps only if the stream remains stable.
Those settings do not make a phone stream reliably unattended for 24 hours. YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, and the available Streamlabs guidance does not establish that every phone can run continuously for 24 hours. If the broadcast must stay live without a device running at home, StreamNeo is a cloud option for looping uploaded videos to YouTube.
Recommended starting settings
| Use case | Resolution and frame rate | H.264 video bitrate | When to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conservative, mostly static stream | 720p30 | 3 Mbps | Start here when stability matters more than extra detail or motion smoothness. YouTube recommends this bitrate for 720p30 live ingestion. |
| More image detail | 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | Try after a representative test confirms stable upload and phone behavior. YouTube recommends 5 Mbps for 1080p30. |
| Smoother motion at 720p | 720p60 | 8 Mbps | Use only if the scene benefits from 60 fps and testing shows the phone and connection can sustain it. |
| Smoother motion at 1080p | 1080p60 | 17 Mbps | A higher-demand option for fast motion; test carefully before relying on it for an extended session. |
The bitrate figures are YouTube’s recommended H.264 live-ingest settings; the page does not display a publication year. They are not measured results or a guarantee that your phone, carrier, Wi-Fi, or upload connection can sustain the stream. YouTube’s encoder guidance also distinguishes recommended values from minimums; the table above uses the recommended targets, not minimums. See YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrate guidance.
Set and test the Streamlabs Mobile output
Streamlabs Mobile’s video settings include output resolution, expected frame rate, and maximum bitrate. Its advanced settings also include adaptive bitrate. The app guide documents these controls but does not prescribe one setting that suits every device. The guide was last updated August 12, 2026: Streamlabs Mobile streaming guide.

- Whether you're an amateur, enthusiast or professional, this is a must-have accesory for shooting on the go
- Choose an initial mode. In Streamlabs Mobile, open Settings and go to Video settings. Set output resolution to 720p, expected frame rate to 30 fps, and maximum bitrate to about 3 Mbps for the cautious H.264 starting point. Exact menu wording can vary by app version.
- Test the real setup. Start a private or unlisted YouTube test using the actual phone position, scene, audio, lighting, and network you plan to use. Include representative movement rather than testing only a still screen.
- Check health before raising quality. Watch YouTube’s stream health and messages, and inspect the picture, audio, and dropped-frame behavior. YouTube advises testing upload bitrate and monitoring stream health during an event.
- Increase one setting at a time. If the stream is stable and you need more detail, try 1080p30 at 5 Mbps. Keep upload capacity comfortably above the video bitrate because real throughput varies; the official guidance reviewed does not specify a universal safety margin.
- Reduce quality when needed. If health degrades, lower resolution, frame rate, or bitrate, then test again. Streamlabs documents adaptive bitrate as an advanced setting, but does not establish a universal mobile configuration for it.
YouTube’s general encoder recommendations specify H.264, constant bitrate (CBR), RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, frame rates up to 60 fps, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. Streamlabs Mobile exposes output settings, but its guide does not establish that users can set every advanced encoder parameter in the mobile interface. Do not assume that a YouTube recommendation is an available app control.
Choose resolution and frame rate for the scene
When 720p30 is enough
For a relatively static scene, 720p30 is a sensible first choice: it follows YouTube’s 3 Mbps H.264 target for that mode and avoids starting with the larger bitrate demands of higher frame rates or resolution. Whether it looks good enough depends on the source image, detail, lighting, and viewer expectations; the bitrate recommendation alone cannot determine that.

When to use 1080p30
Move to 1080p30 if added image detail matters and testing shows stable upload and device behavior at YouTube’s 5 Mbps H.264 target. Do not jump to 1080p simply because the phone supports it: a higher output mode is not useful if the connection cannot sustain it without degradation.
When 60 fps is worthwhile
60 fps can make fast motion look smoother, but YouTube’s recommended H.264 targets rise to 8 Mbps for 720p60 and 17 Mbps for 1080p60. A static scene may gain little from the extra frames. Treat the higher targets as demands to validate through testing, not as a reason by themselves to select 60 fps.

What changes when the goal is 24/7
A bitrate choice cannot prevent a mobile app from stopping, a phone from overheating, a battery or power arrangement from failing, or a network from dropping. Streamlabs’ sources reviewed describe mobile settings and YouTube setup, but do not establish a maximum continuous-session duration, a supported thermal profile, a guaranteed power arrangement, or a recovery policy for a 24-hour session. Confirm behavior for your specific app version, phone, and connection rather than treating any preset as a 24/7 guarantee.
Streamlabs’ YouTube mobile guide describes account activation steps, including phone verification and a 24-hour first-time live setup period. It also describes Streamlabs Ultra Network Boost, which can use multiple internet connections to support mobile reliability. That is a possible connection aid, not evidence of uninterrupted operation by the app, phone, or carrier. See Streamlabs’ YouTube-from-phone guide.

Plan separately for a recording
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. This applies to encoder, webcam, and mobile streams. If you need a complete record, plan local or segmented recording and verify the resulting files; YouTube recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do not copy LAN-feed settings into a YouTube preset
Streamlabs’ Mobile LAN Streaming Source Guide recommends 720p or 1080p and feed bitrates of 5,000 or 10,000 respectively for sending a phone video feed over a local network to a computer, using H.264/AVC. Those are LAN-feed figures, not YouTube live-ingest recommendations. For YouTube, use the platform’s mode-specific targets above and validate them on your connection. Troubleshoot a weak or interrupted stream
- YouTube reports poor stream health or frames drop: reduce bitrate first, or step down from 1080p to 720p and retest. Check that upload capacity remains stable during a test, not just in a one-time speed check.
- The image looks blocky during motion: confirm the selected bitrate is appropriate for the chosen resolution and frame rate. If the connection is stable, test a higher-quality mode; if it is not, preserve stability by lowering resolution or frame rate.
- Audio or video behaves differently during the real broadcast: repeat the test with the planned audio and representative movement. A still or silent test does not reflect the actual stream conditions YouTube recommends testing.
- The stream stops during a long session: the documented settings do not establish a universal mobile recovery procedure or guarantee continuous operation. Check device/app-specific behavior and network conditions; do not infer that changing bitrate alone will prevent another interruption.
- You need the complete broadcast afterward: do not rely on YouTube’s automatic archive for a stream beyond 12 hours. Record locally or in segments and verify the files.
