Choose by exact model and priorities, not by brand alone. The iQOO 15 is a strong candidate if its advertised gaming-focused hardware, 144 Hz display, large stated battery capacity and fast charging appeal to you. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 family offers three sizes and distinct camera configurations, with Galaxy AI as a prominent feature. These are manufacturer-listed strengths, not proof that one brand is better overall.
For a useful current comparison, look at the iQOO 15 alongside the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. Samsung announced the S26 series on 25 February 2026 and listed 11 March 2026 as its release date in the UK; availability and configurations can differ by market. Samsung’s UK announcement
Start by choosing the right model and size
“iQOO flagship” and “Galaxy S-series” do not describe equivalent, fixed configurations. The iQOO 15 is the concrete iQOO example here. Samsung’s current S26 range has three models, with different screen sizes, batteries and camera hardware. Compare phones at a similar size and price tier; an S26 Ultra is not a like-for-like stand-in for the base S26.

These figures are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. Samsung distinguishes the full rectangular display diagonal from the viewable area, which is smaller because of rounded corners and the camera opening. Which is better for gaming?
The iQOO 15’s listed hardware is aimed at gaming: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a dedicated Q3 graphics chip, an 8K VC cooling system and a display with a refresh rate up to 144 Hz. Samsung describes a customized chipset and performance and thermal management for the S26 family; its global announcement says the chipset varies by model and market. Those specifications alone do not establish which phone sustains higher frame rates or runs cooler in a particular game.
If gaming is decisive, compare independent tests of the exact regional models under the same games and conditions. Look for sustained frame rates, temperature, frame-time consistency, touch response and game compatibility—not just peak refresh rate or chip names. A 144 Hz panel can display more frequent updates than a 120 Hz panel when the game and system support it, but it does not guarantee that a game will render at that rate.

- It offers a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 48-120 Hz refresh rate plus up to ~ 1750 nits peak brightness and “Vision Booster,” meaning the screen stays bright and viewable even in strong sunlight — great if you use your phone outdoors a lot.
Which screen should you choose?
The iQOO 15 has the largest stated resolution and highest maximum refresh rate among the phones listed here. Samsung’s range gives you a smaller 6.3-inch option, a 6.7-inch middle size and a 6.9-inch Ultra. Choose the screen that suits your hands, reading, video and gaming habits rather than assuming that more pixels or a higher refresh number automatically means a better everyday display.
iQOO lists a peak brightness claim of 6,000 nits with local peak-brightness qualifications. Peak figures can be measured under different conditions across manufacturers, so do not treat them as directly comparable evidence of outdoor visibility. If possible, assess the phone in person for size, reflections, color, viewing angles and the screen feel you prefer.
How should you compare the cameras?
Start with the focal lengths you actually use. The iQOO 15 lists three 50 MP rear cameras, including a 3× periscope telephoto. Samsung’s S26 Ultra adds a 5× telephoto alongside its 3× camera, while the base S26 has a different arrangement. The Ultra is therefore the Samsung option to consider if longer optical reach matters to you; that does not by itself prove it takes better photos.

- For portraits and distant subjects, compare the telephoto focal lengths and real sample images at the zoom levels you use.
- For night scenes, moving subjects or video, look for matched tests of stabilization, exposure, focus and detail.
- For everyday snapshots, compare color and processing in the kinds of lighting where you usually take photos.
Megapixel counts are not a photo-quality verdict. Lens design, sensor behavior, processing, stabilization and video needs all matter. Manufacturer camera specifications are listed on the iQOO 15 page and Samsung’s S26 specifications page.
Does iQOO or Samsung have better battery life?
The iQOO 15 product page states a typical capacity of 7,000 mAh, with 100 W FlashCharge and 40 W wireless charging. Samsung lists typical capacities of 4,300 mAh for the S26, 4,900 mAh for the S26+ and 5,000 mAh for the Ultra. Samsung cautions that actual battery life varies with network, usage and other factors. Capacity is not an endurance test: screen size, chipset, software, signal conditions and workload also affect runtime.
iQOO also publishes lab results for gaming, video streaming and social media use, while warning that actual experience may vary. Those vendor results should not be compared directly with Samsung figures unless the test methods and conditions match. For a dependable ranking, seek independent battery tests of the exact models under the same protocol.

iQOO claims IP68/IP69 protection for the iQOO 15 and warns that protection can diminish over time and liquid damage is not covered by warranty. Samsung lists IP68 for the S26 family under stated freshwater laboratory conditions: up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. Samsung also says resistance can diminish.

Compare software, support and practical ownership
The iQOO comparison page lists OriginOS 6 for the iQOO 15. Samsung highlights Galaxy AI on the S26 series. Which interface and features you prefer is personal; the longer-term support promise is a separate question. The product information cited here does not establish a support duration for every regional iQOO variant or the current written commitment for every local S26 model. Check the manufacturer’s current support policy for the exact SKU before purchase rather than assuming the same terms apply worldwide.
Also confirm these details for the phone and seller in your market:
- Warranty coverage, authorized repair options and service availability.
- Carrier-band compatibility and whether the model supports the network features you need.
- Local price, retailer stock, return policy and included accessories.
- Exact model number and regional software configuration.
Market-specific specifications can differ. iQOO’s comparison information, for example, shows regional capacity details, so do not assume a specification from one country applies to a listing in another. iQOO product comparison
Which phone should you buy?
Choose the iQOO 15 if
- You prioritize its advertised gaming hardware and want a display capable of up to 144 Hz.
- You value the stated 7,000 mAh typical battery capacity and fast wired and wireless charging features.
- You have checked that the exact local model’s software, service and support arrangements suit you.
Choose a Galaxy S26 model if
- You want three distinct size and tier choices, from the 6.3-inch S26 to the 6.9-inch Ultra.
- You prefer the S26 Ultra’s listed 3× and 5× telephoto options, or want to choose among the family’s camera configurations.
- You specifically value Samsung’s Galaxy AI experience.
Before deciding, compare current local prices and exact SKUs, then use independent matched testing for gaming, battery endurance or camera performance if those are the deciding factors. Manufacturer feature lists can narrow your choices; they cannot settle those real-world comparisons on their own.
