Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Choose an Android note-taking app by matching it to how you capture, organize, access, and share notes—not by looking for a universal winner. OneNote suits structured notebooks tied to Microsoft accounts; Obsidian suits people who want local Markdown files and control over sync; Notion suits connected pages and shared workspaces if you prepare pages for offline use; and Samsung Notes is worth considering for handwriting on compatible Galaxy devices.
Before committing, check the Android app’s capture tools, offline behavior, sync destinations, support for your other devices, and how you will back up your notes. Those details determine whether an app fits your everyday workflow.
What should you compare before choosing?
Start with the work you need the app to do on your Android phone or tablet. A quick list-taking app, a set of course notebooks, a shared project workspace, and handwritten pages call for different tools.
- Capture: Check whether you need typed notes, lists, audio, web content, photos, handwriting, or home-screen shortcuts. Confirm that the Android app—not only the desktop version—supports the inputs you rely on.
- Organization: Decide whether you think in quick notes, notebooks and sections, linked pages, or databases. An elaborate workspace can help with connected projects but add friction to capturing a simple reminder.
- Offline access: Find out whether notes are stored locally, whether specific pages must be downloaded first, and what happens to edits when you reconnect. “Works offline” can mean different things in different apps.
- Sync and devices: Check how notes move between Android, your computer, tablet, and browser. The easiest option is often the one that fits an account or ecosystem you already use, but confirm that it supports all the devices you need.
- Data control and backup: Consider whether your notes are local files or depend on an app account, and how you will keep a separate copy. Sync helps keep devices aligned; it is not automatically a backup.
- Handwriting: Verify stylus and device compatibility before choosing an app for handwritten notes. The experience depends on supported hardware as well as app features.
- Cost: Separate the core app from optional sync or workspace plans. Plan terms and prices can change, so check the current plan page before deciding.
Which app fits your workflow?
| App | Consider it if you need | Offline and sync considerations |
|---|---|---|
| OneNote | Structured notebooks and sections, especially alongside a Microsoft account | Microsoft says Android notes sync automatically with OneDrive; a manual “Sync all” option is also available. |
| Obsidian | Local Markdown files, offline access, and control over how notes sync | Notes live in a local vault and remain available offline. Obsidian Sync is the first-party cross-platform option; other approaches may need extra setup. |
| Notion | Connected pages, shared workspaces, and databases | Plan for offline access: mobile pages can be downloaded individually, and a downloaded parent does not automatically download its subpages. |
| Samsung Notes | Handwritten notes on compatible Galaxy hardware | Samsung documents handwriting mode and syncing with Microsoft OneNote. Compatibility and Galaxy AI features vary by device and availability. |
| Zoho Notebook | A cross-platform notebook app whose listing describes offline editing | Zoho’s Google Play description says notes can be read and edited offline, then sync when the device reconnects. This is the developer’s claim, not independent reliability testing. |
Choose by the way you take notes
For school or work notebooks tied to Microsoft
Try OneNote if you prefer a notebook structure and already use a Microsoft account. Microsoft’s Android documentation lists notebooks and sections, search, audio notes, widgets, formatting, and options for sharing web content and files into OneNote. Microsoft says Android notes sync automatically with OneDrive as you move between notes and sections, and the app also provides a manual “Sync all” option. See Microsoft’s OneNote for Android feature documentation and its Android notebook sync guidance.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
For local files and offline work
Try Obsidian if you want notes kept in a local vault and prefer to choose how that vault syncs. Its local notes remain available offline, while Obsidian Sync provides a first-party route across supported platforms. On Android, files saved in device storage can be accessed by other apps and sync tools; app storage is more isolated, and uninstalling Obsidian deletes notes stored there. Third-party folder-sync setups can require additional configuration and have mobile-specific caveats. Obsidian advises keeping a backup separate from sync; its backup guide explains the distinction. The app is listed as “Free without limits”; the pricing page viewed on October 4, 2026, showed Obsidian Sync at $4 USD per user per month billed annually or $5 billed monthly. Check Obsidian’s current pricing page for terms before subscribing.
For connected pages and team work
Try Notion if your notes belong in a shared workspace with linked pages or databases. Its mobile offline access requires preparation rather than providing blanket access to every page: any plan can download pages individually, while paid plans automatically download recent and favorite pages. Subpages do not automatically download with a downloaded parent. Before a trip or an offline work session, download the pages you expect to need and check whether linked subpages are available. See Notion’s offline page guidance.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
For handwriting on a Galaxy device
Try Samsung Notes if handwriting is central to your workflow and you have compatible Galaxy hardware. Samsung documents handwriting mode and synchronization with Microsoft OneNote. It also describes Galaxy AI tools for select devices; do not assume those tools or every Notes feature are available on every Galaxy model, in every region, or on other Android tablets. Confirm compatibility for your exact device in Samsung’s Notes support information before moving your workflow.
For a cross-platform notebook with offline editing
Zoho Notebook is another app to evaluate if its notebook approach suits you. Its Google Play listing says users can create, edit, and read notes offline, then sync when reconnected across the platforms it lists. That is Zoho’s feature description, not an independent assessment of sync reliability. Test it with the devices and notes you actually use; see the Zoho Notebook Google Play listing.

How to test an app before moving important notes
- Use the Android app first. Create a few notes using the inputs you depend on, such as typed text, audio, web clips, or a stylus. Check whether the capture process feels workable on your phone or tablet.
- Try your real organization system. Set up a representative notebook, folder, page structure, or database. Add enough material to see whether you can find notes again using the app’s search and navigation.
- Test offline behavior deliberately. Disconnect from the internet and open the notes you expect to need. For Notion, download specific pages in advance; for other apps, confirm which notes remain available and whether offline edits sync after reconnection.
- Check sync across your devices. Create or edit a test note on Android, then check it on the computer, tablet, or browser you plan to use. Confirm that the method works with your accounts and platforms.
- Make a backup and test recovery. Identify how to keep a copy separate from the app’s sync system, then verify that you can access or restore it. For Obsidian, pay particular attention to whether your vault is in device storage or app storage before uninstalling or changing sync tools.
- Only then migrate your working notes. Move a small set first and check the result on each device. Avoid making an app your sole home for important notes until you understand its offline, sync, and backup behavior.
Keep sync separate from backup
Sync is intended to keep copies aligned across devices; it does not by itself give you an independent recovery copy. Obsidian explicitly recommends maintaining a backup separate from sync. That distinction matters most when notes are important enough that accidental deletion, an account problem, or an app change would be costly. Decide where a separate copy will live and how you will confirm it can be restored before relying on the app for essential records.
