Choose an Aion 2 class by the role and combat style you enjoy—not by an assumed universal ranking. For the global roster, the eight listed classes are Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Cleric, and Chanter. NCSoft’s descriptions point to broad identities, but they do not establish which class performs best in every mode or in the latest balance version.
Which classes are available in Aion 2?
NCSoft’s June 2025 overview introduced eight classes, naming the ranged scout class Marksman. Later references to the global roster use the name Ranger. A current class reference lists eight classes for the global version and nine for Korea and Taiwan, where Brawler was added regionally. Check your client’s region and current in-game roster before relying on a class list.

These are broad identity cues from NCSoft’s initial overview, not a controlled comparison of current performance. They are useful for narrowing your choice by role and combat feel, but should not be read as a definitive description of a class’s present strength.

Start with the kind of combat you want, then consider what you want to contribute when playing with others. If you mainly play alone, solo-oriented design may matter more than party responsibility.

- Choose by range: Decide whether you would rather fight at close quarters or attack from a distance. Assassin and Templar are identified with melee or tanking; the Ranger identity is long-range.
- Choose by party responsibility: Templar is the clearest fit if you want the core tanking role. Chanter is explicitly described as versatile support. The overview’s Cleric description highlights damage capability, but does not give enough detail to judge its current balance between healing and damage.
- Choose by combat identity: Consider Gladiator for wide-area attacks, Assassin for precision-based melee, and Sorcerer for high-burst magic damage.
- Choose by solo preference: Spiritmaster is the class NCSoft’s initial overview specifically frames as optimized for solo play. That description is not proof it is the strongest solo class in the current version.
When two classes sound appealing, prioritize the one whose basic role you will enjoy repeating. The official descriptions do not establish a single best choice for every player, activity, or mode.
Is Spiritmaster the best class for solo play?
NCSoft’s initial overview calls Spiritmaster “Optimized for solo play,” making it the clearest choice if you want to follow the stated solo-oriented identity. That wording does not establish that Spiritmaster is the strongest solo performer now: it is a class description, not a current, mode-specific performance ranking.

Why should you be cautious with Aion 2 tier lists?
Class balance and systems have changed since the initial class descriptions. On March 25, 2026, NCSoft announced a comprehensive class rebalance, new Stigma skills for every class, an increase in the maximum number of Stigma slots to five, and separate PvP and PvE damage calculations. The five-slot figure describes a system detail in that announcement, not a measure of class strength.

A tier list is only useful when you can tell what it applies to. Check that it identifies the region, PvP or PvE mode, build or game version, and publication date. Without those details, a ranking may not match your client or the activity you care about. The official class identities help with preference-based selection, but they do not supply a current, controlled ranking across classes.
