For PS5 Pro, look for a 4K TV that supports 4K at 120Hz, variable refresh rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) on the HDMI input you plan to use. Confirm the exact model and size: feature support can differ by port, regional version, and game. No one TV is best for every room or budget, and the available specifications do not establish a tested overall winner.
What a TV needs to make the most of PS5 Pro
PS5 supports HDMI 2.1 and 4K/120Hz output, but seeing those settings depends on the TV, the chosen HDMI input, setup, and the game. Sony describes PS5 Pro as offering enhanced 4K presentation and high-frame-rate gameplay in compatible titles; that does not mean every game runs at 4K and 120 frames per second. Check the PlayStation resolution support guidance and the PS5 Pro features page.
- 4K resolution: A 4K panel matches the console’s 4K output capability.
- 120Hz refresh rate: This allows the TV to display compatible high-frame-rate output. A game must support the relevant mode; the TV alone cannot make a game run at 120fps.
- VRR: Variable refresh rate can help compatible games display more smoothly. Sony says it requires a compatible game and HDMI 2.1 VRR-compatible TV, and results vary by TV and game. See Sony’s VRR guidance.
- ALLM: Auto Low Latency Mode can switch a compatible TV into a lower-latency game setting. Sony cautions that HDMI 2.1 on its own does not guarantee ALLM; check the exact model’s specifications and manual.
- HDR: Consider HDR support and the TV’s game-picture controls, but compare the exact HDR formats and tone-mapping features rather than assuming all HDR televisions perform alike.
How to choose between TVs
Start with compatibility, then narrow the options to suit your room and budget. A specification listed for one screen size or regional model may not apply to every variant bearing the same product name.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Confirm the exact model and size. Read the manufacturer’s specification page and manual for the precise model suffix sold in your region.
- Check the inputs you will use. Confirm which HDMI ports support 4K/120Hz, VRR, and ALLM. Count how many such ports you need if other devices will remain connected.
- Match the display to the room. OLED is one display type to consider; also weigh brightness, reflections, seating distance, and screen size. The cited specifications do not provide a controlled comparison of brightness, reflection handling, image quality, or input lag between models.
- Compare HDR details and warranty. Check supported HDR formats, game tone mapping, warranty terms, and the local model’s specifications before buying.
- Check current local pricing and availability. These vary by country, retailer, model suffix, and time; no current price or stock level is established here.
Example: LG OLED evo C5
LG’s UK product page lists four HDMI 2.1 ports and VRR up to 144Hz for the C5 sizes shown there. Those manufacturer-listed specifications make it a plausible OLED option to investigate for PS5 Pro—not proof that it is the best TV, or evidence of measured image quality or input lag. Verify the specifications for the exact size and regional model you are considering on LG’s UK C5 page.

Why 8K is not a default upgrade
Sony’s requirements for PS5 Pro 8K output include a display that supports 8K at 60Hz with Display Stream Compression. Sony also says VRR is disabled during 8K output. That makes 8K a specific compatibility choice, not a blanket improvement over a 4K/120Hz setup. Check Sony’s PS5 resolution support guidance before treating 8K as a priority.

If the console does not offer 4K/120Hz, work through these checks in order. The TV may require a setting change for the HDMI input; consult its manual for the manufacturer’s name for that setting.

- Use the cable included with the console or a suitable Ultra High Speed HDMI cable. An additional cable purchase may not be necessary.
- On PS5, check the resolution and video transfer-rate settings, and make sure the TV input is configured for its high-bandwidth mode if required.
Sony’s resolution support article covers these connection and output checks. If a feature remains unavailable, recheck the TV manual for the selected port and the exact model variant.
