The right MLB streaming service depends on two things: which team you want to watch and where you will be when you watch. For a team in its home television territory, check that club’s local streaming service or TV provider. For teams outside your local market, MLB.TV is the main option to investigate. Then check national-game rights, blackouts, device support, and the renewal terms before subscribing—no single service is established as showing every MLB game everywhere.

Start with your team and viewing location

MLB coverage is split between local games and out-of-market games. A team’s local service is aimed at viewers within its home television territory; MLB.TV is designed for live and on-demand out-of-market games, subject to blackout restrictions. MLB’s 2026 team viewing guide lists the local route and out-of-market MLB.TV route for each club. Check the entry for your team and confirm that the local service accepts viewers at your address.

  1. Choose the team. If you follow more than one, note which games matter most; the best fit may differ by club.
  2. Use the place you will watch. MLB says blackout rules depend on geography and physical location, which may be determined using factors such as your IP address. Check the current MLB.TV and local streaming information for your location before paying.
  3. Identify whether the team is local or out of market. Look up a local service or TV provider for a team in your home territory; investigate MLB.TV for an out-of-market team.
  4. Check the specific game’s rights. National broadcasts can change where a game is available, so verify the schedule and rights holder for games you particularly want to watch.
  5. Compare the full cost and playback setup. Include any renewal price and check that your device supports the service’s app.

Option Best fit What to check
A team’s local streaming service or TV provider Watching a club within its home television territory Provider and eligibility vary by team and location; national exclusives may affect individual games.
MLB.TV Following teams outside your local market Local and national blackout restrictions apply; it is not an all-games pass.
National partners such as Apple TV or Peacock Watching a particular nationally distributed game These carry selected games rather than a full season for one team; territorial restrictions may apply.
Cable, satellite, telecom, or live-TV provider Accessing channels that carry a local regional sports network or national broadcasts Channel carriage and local availability depend on your market and provider.

MLB’s 2026 guide names MLB Tuesday on TBS, Apple TV Friday Night Baseball, MLB on FOX, weekly ESPN exclusives, and Sunday Leadoff and Sunday Night Baseball on NBC and Peacock as national routes. Check the listing for the individual game rather than assuming a team package includes every broadcast.

How local services differ by team

There is no single local app for every club. MLB’s July 15, 2026 guide lists examples including NESN 360 for the Red Sox, Gotham Sports or Prime Video for the Yankees, CLEGUARDIANS.TV for the Guardians, MARQ Sports Network for the Cubs, and SNLA+ for the Dodgers. These are examples, not a complete recommendation for every market; use the guide’s entry for your team and verify the service’s location eligibility.

MLB
  • Watch in-game highlights (No blackout restrictions; no subscription required)
  • Listen to Home, Away and Spanish-language (where available) radio broadcasts (MLB Audio subscription required)
  • Live controls to pause and rewind live video
  • Enhanced Gameday pitch-by-pitch features, including realistic ballpark renderings from all 30 MLB parks
  • Breaking news, schedules, interactive rosters and player stats for every team

MLB.com’s guide says that all 30 teams had a direct-to-consumer streaming option available for the 2026 season and that 14 teams added a new DTC option during the offseason. Those figures describe the 2026 season context, not uniform prices, territory rules, or game coverage.

What MLB.TV costs and what its current offer means

As listed on October 4, 2026, MLB’s subscription page offers MLB.TV for $29.99 for the remaining 2026 season. The offer covers out-of-market live or on-demand games, subject to blackouts. It is an in-season price, not the regular full-season price: the subscription is set to renew on or about March 1, 2027, at the then-current regular full-season price. ESPN’s MLB.TV page currently lists that regular price as $149.99 per season and also displays the $29.99 remaining-season offer. Prices and terms can change, so confirm both the checkout amount and renewal terms immediately before subscribing.

MLB says a new MLB.TV subscriber receives a one-month ESPN Unlimited trial. ESPN’s current terms say the base ESPN plan can be cancelled after purchase while MLB.TV is retained. The trial is not a requirement to keep MLB.TV for the full subscription term; review the live offer and billing terms before checkout. See MLB’s subscription page and ESPN’s MLB.TV plans and terms.

Check blackout rules before buying

MLB.TV is an out-of-market service, not a way to bypass local broadcast restrictions. MLB says blackout restrictions are based on geography and physical location, and that restrictions may change. A game’s national broadcast can also affect availability through a local team package or MLB.TV.

National streaming does not guarantee that every viewer can watch every listed game. Peacock says territorial blackout restrictions may make selected regular-season, special-event, and postseason games unavailable. It also says territory restrictions apply whether a club is home or away, and regardless of whether the game is televised in that club’s home television territory. Check Peacock’s MLB blackout guidance and the relevant service’s schedule for a specific game.
