Choose an armband by comparing its usable internal pouch dimensions with your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge—and with the phone case, if you plan to keep the case on. A “5.1-inch phone” label is not enough to establish fit. Also check how the pouch closes, whether its band adjusts securely, and whether you can use the screen and controls as needed.
Start with the phone’s actual dimensions
Samsung lists the Galaxy S6 at 143.4 × 70.5 × 6.8 mm and the Galaxy S6 Edge at 142.1 × 70.1 × 7.0 mm. Both have a 5.1-inch display. These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements of any armband or guarantee of compatibility. See Samsung’s launch specifications.
Compare the phone’s length, width, and thickness with the pouch’s usable internal measurements. If you will run with a case on, include the case in the fit check: the bare-phone dimensions do not account for its added bulk. A display-size label alone cannot confirm fit because it does not specify the pouch’s internal length, width, or depth.
Check the listing against your setup
- Dimensions: Find the pouch’s internal measurements and check that they accommodate the phone, including its case if applicable. If a listing gives only a screen-size range, ask the seller or manufacturer for internal dimensions rather than assuming compatibility.
- Model claim: Look for an explicit Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge compatibility statement, then compare it with the stated measurements. A model name by itself may not clarify whether the claim assumes a bare phone or a particular case.
- Screen and controls: Decide whether you need to view or operate the touchscreen, and whether you need access to buttons or ports while running. Check the listing for what the pouch allows; do not assume access from the product category alone.
- Retention and arm fit: Check how the phone is held and how the pouch closes, along with whether the band adjusts to your arm. These are practical factors to evaluate on the listing, not verified performance claims about a specific armband.
- Purchase terms: Confirm current compatibility details and return terms before ordering, particularly if you intend to use a protective case.
What to consider for the Galaxy S6 Edge
Samsung describes the S6 Edge display as dual-curved in its design article. That is a useful distinction when checking how a close-fitting pouch presents the screen, but it does not establish that a particular armband will press on, expose, or protect the curved edges. Those details depend on the specific pouch design and its fit.

Compare armbands without guessing
No specific armband model or current listing is established here, so there is no sound basis to rank products or claim that a named one fits either phone. When comparing listings, use the same checks for each: internal pouch dimensions, fit with your case, screen and control access, band adjustment and closure, and any explicit model-compatibility claim. If a key detail is missing, verify it with the seller or choose a listing that states it clearly.
