Check your name on the Election Commission of India’s electoral roll using its official electoral search or the Voters’ Services Portal. Search by EPIC number if you have it, or use the available personal-detail or mobile-number search. Open the result and confirm your entry and polling-station details. The essential test is whether your name appears on the electoral roll: an EPIC card alone does not replace that check.
Check your voter registration online

Open the ECI’s electoral search or visit the Voters’ Services Portal and choose the voter-list search service. Confirm that the address is on an official ECI domain before entering personal information.

Choose a search method. Use your EPIC number if available; otherwise, try the personal-details search or the mobile-number option shown by the electoral-search interface. Complete the live form’s requested state and verification fields. The interface may change over time.

Review the result carefully against your name and identifying details. Note the polling station and other polling information shown. ECI describes electoral search and polling details among the portal’s voter services.

ECI’s How to Vote guidance puts the decisive rule plainly: “You can vote only if your name appears in the Voter List (also known as electoral roll).” Having an EPIC card does not by itself establish that your name is present on the relevant roll.
If the search does not find your name
Try alternate search details
Check for spelling differences and try other available search fields before concluding that no entry exists. The ECI’s SIR 2026 search page specifically advises trying name variants—for example, “Maneesh” and “Manish”—and adding district, Assembly Constituency, and polling-part details where needed. That advice applies to the SIR search and does not mean every ECI search screen works identically.

Use the current application or correction route
If you still cannot find an entry, consult the current instructions on the Voters’ Services Portal rather than assuming that an application or an EPIC card guarantees the roll is correct. ECI identifies Form 6 for new voter registration and Form 8 for corrections or shifting; the portal also presents Form 6A for overseas Indian electors subject to conditions, and Form 7 for deletion. Check the live form instructions and eligibility rules for your circumstances, then use the portal to track a submitted application where available.

Other official ways to check
If you cannot use the website, ECI lists the Voter Helpline app, telephone helpline 1950 (add the STD code where applicable), and SMS as alternatives for registration or polling information. Use current instructions on an official ECI channel for app access, calling, or SMS; formats and availability can change. ECI’s FAQ has given the example “ECI 12345678” sent to 1950, with the digits representing an EPIC number, but check the live guidance before using a message template.

Electoral-roll revisions, search interfaces, and polling assignments can be time- and location-sensitive. Check the official portal again near the election, particularly if you have moved or recently submitted an application. The SIR 2026 lookup covers an earlier SIR electoral roll; not finding an entry there does not prove that the person is absent from the current final roll.
