How to Check Your Apple or iTunes Gift Card Balance on iPhone

To check a redeemed Apple or iTunes gift card on an iPhone, open the App Store, tap your profile photo, initials, or the My Account button, then look below your name. If the card is unused, check it through Apple’s separate gift-card balance checker where that option is available.

How do I check my Apple gift card balance on my iPhone?

1. Open the App Store.

2. Tap your profile photo, initials, or the My Account button.

3. Sign in to your Apple Account if prompted.

This shows the balance associated with your Apple Account, which is where funds from a supported gift card appear after redemption.

How can I check an iTunes gift card balance?

If you already redeemed the card, check your Apple Account balance using the App Store steps above. Apple’s redeemed-card guidance includes Apple Gift Cards, App Store Cards, and App Store & iTunes Gift Cards. The balance is on the account, not a separate balance screen for the physical card. See Apple’s gift card guidance.

If you have not redeemed the card, use Apple’s separate gift-card balance check for an unused Apple Gift Card or App Store Card where available. The checker’s available card types and features can depend on country or region; Apple’s guidance does not establish that the same checker supports every legacy card or location.

Why is my Apple Account balance wrong or missing?

Sign out and back in

If the displayed amount seems incorrect, Apple recommends signing out of the App Store, Apple Music, or Apple TV app and signing back in, then checking again. Follow Apple’s steps for when your Apple Account balance seems incorrect.

Review recent purchases and renewals

Check your purchase history for app or media purchases and subscription renewals that may have used the balance. A balance can change when eligible purchases are charged to the account.

Trying to clear a small remaining balance?

If you need to spend the balance before making an account change, Apple suggests waiting for pending refunds and using the remainder on Apple services. If the remaining amount is less than the cost of one item, contact Apple Support for help.

Where Apple Gift Card is available, the card or resulting account balance may be used for Apple products and accessories through Apple retail channels, as well as eligible App Store apps and in-app purchases, media through Apple services, and some subscriptions such as Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV, and iCloud+. Apple says redeemed gift balances and unused Apple Account balance generally cannot be returned for cash, except where required by law. Refund treatment depends on the jurisdiction. Check Apple’s gift card terms for the applicable region.
