A Samsung “6 Series” label alone cannot confirm AirPlay support. Check the TV’s settings for Apple AirPlay Settings, then verify its full model code and sales region against Samsung’s compatibility information. Samsung lists some 2018 and 2019 4K UHD TVs as compatible, but support depends on the specific model.
Check for Apple AirPlay Settings on the TV
- On the Samsung remote, open Settings or All Settings.
- Look under General for Apple AirPlay Settings. Some 2022–2023 Samsung models place this option under Connection instead. Menu names and locations can vary by model and software. Samsung documents these menu paths in its Singapore support instructions.
- If you find the menu, open it and make sure AirPlay is switched on. The menu may also show pairing or code options.
Samsung says owners can check for AirPlay compatibility in the TV’s settings. Its UK support page describes availability on specific Samsung TVs and monitors produced from 2018 onward, rather than every TV made in that period: How to use AirPlay 2 with Samsung TV, updated 7 January 2025.
Find the full model code and check Samsung’s list
If the AirPlay menu is missing—or you want to confirm before troubleshooting—find the TV’s complete model code. It is usually printed on the product label or shown in the TV’s support or About information. Check that exact code and the TV’s sales region against Samsung’s compatibility information; “6 Series” by itself does not identify the model year or establish compatibility.

Try AirPlay from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac
When the TV’s AirPlay setting is available and enabled, connect the Apple device and TV to the same Wi-Fi network, then select the TV from the device’s AirPlay or Screen Mirroring controls. On an iPhone, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, and choose the Samsung TV. Enter the code shown on the TV if prompted. Samsung describes this iPhone screen-mirroring process in its US connection guide.
AirPlay is Apple’s streaming and screen-mirroring feature; it is not the same thing as Samsung Smart View.

If the AirPlay setting is missing
- Recheck the alternate menu: Look under both General and Connection, since placement varies across models and software.
- Verify the model and region: Compare the full code—not just the “6 Series” name—with Samsung’s compatible-model information for the TV’s market.
- Check for an applicable software update: Samsung says select 2018 models received AirPlay 2 through a firmware update. An update is relevant only if Samsung lists the exact TV as eligible; it cannot be assumed to add support to every model.
- Do not rely on an Evolution kit: Samsung Singapore states that Evolution kits do not add AirPlay 2 or Apple TV functionality.
Samsung announced in 2019 that all 2019 Smart TVs and select 2018 models would receive AirPlay 2, with the 2018 support delivered through a firmware update. That announcement explains the rollout history, but the TV’s exact model remains the deciding check today: Samsung’s 2019 announcement.
