To check whether a restaurant promotion is available near you, open the restaurant’s official app or website, select the location you plan to visit, and check its Deals, Offers, Coupons, or Rewards section. Open the offer’s full terms and confirm the location, date, eligible items, ordering method, and redemption steps before you travel or place an order.
Check a promotion before you go
- Choose the exact restaurant. Identify the branch you intend to visit. In the chain’s app or website, set that location as your active restaurant if the service offers that option.
- Open the official offer listing. Sign in if required, allow location access if the app uses it, and look under Deals, Offers, Coupons, or Rewards. McDonald’s advises users to log in, turn on location services, and select “Deals” to find offers near them: McDonald’s App Deals FAQs.
- Read the individual offer’s terms. Check its expiration date, valid hours, eligible products, minimum purchase, participating-location condition, and whether you must enroll in rewards or activate the offer first.
- Confirm how you can redeem it. Check whether the offer works in the restaurant, at a kiosk, in the drive-through, through mobile ordering, or for pickup or delivery. These methods are not automatically interchangeable.
- Recheck before submitting or setting out. Make sure the offer still appears for the chosen location and is valid. If the app gives you a code or QR code, follow its redemption instructions and any timer.
What to verify in the offer terms
- Location: Does the offer apply at your specific restaurant, or only at participating locations?
- Timing: When does it expire, and are there restrictions by day or serving time?
- Purchase conditions: Which items qualify, and is there a minimum spend or another purchase requirement?
- Account and activation: Must you sign in, join a rewards program, or tap to activate the offer?
- Order channel: Is redemption limited to a particular app, website, in-store order, kiosk, or drive-through?
- Pickup and delivery: Does the offer work for pickup, delivery, or both? Delivery offers may have different terms or exclusions.
- Limits: Can it be combined with another promotion, and is there a per-person or per-visit limit?
For a useful comparison between two offers, check these same conditions for each one, then compare the final price after any fees. The headline discount alone may not tell you which deal fits your order.

Why a promotion may not be available at your location
A promotion can be advertised broadly but still be restricted by participating restaurant, geography, account, date, eligible product, serving time, inventory, or ordering method. For example, McDonald’s US terms say some deals are limited to a particular online service and displayed product, are available only at participating restaurants, and end on the stated expiration date. The terms also say serving times may apply and generally limit customers to one deal per visit unless the offer says otherwise: McDonald’s US Terms and Conditions.

Taco Bell’s US signup reward, for example, is limited to participating US locations and specified app and in-store or drive-through pickup methods: Taco Bell Rewards Terms. These are examples of offer-specific rules, not rules that apply to every restaurant.

If the offer is missing or will not apply
- Confirm the app or website is showing the intended branch, not a different saved or nearby location.
- Check whether you need to sign in, enable location access, join rewards, or activate the offer.
- Review the offer’s date, hours, eligible products, and purchase requirements.
- Try the redemption method named in the terms; an in-store offer may not apply to a delivery order.
- If the terms are unclear, contact the restaurant or the chain’s official support channel and show the offer details. For McDonald’s app technical problems, its FAQ directs users to the feedback form linked from the app help page.
For example, McDonald’s says a scan-at-restaurant QR code remains active for 15 minutes after selection, so follow the code’s displayed instructions rather than assuming it can be used later.

App and website listings can change as offers expire, are used, or are updated. McDonald’s says expired or used deals are removed, while Starbucks’ terms say personalized offers may have short redemption periods and can be changed or suspended. Check the official listing again on the day you plan to use a promotion; an advertisement or chain-wide campaign does not by itself confirm that your branch participates.
