To see how much storage is left on your iPad, open Settings > General > iPad Storage. The available space appears at the top of the screen.
Check available storage in Settings
- Open Settings.
- Tap General.
- Tap iPad Storage.
- Read the available storage amount at the top of the screen.
Below the available-space amount, you can review apps and how much storage they use. Tap an app to open its details. The page may also show recommendations for managing storage. Apple’s iPad guide notes that cached and temporary data may not be counted as app usage.
Device storage and iCloud storage are different
The amount shown in iPad Storage is space on the iPad itself. iCloud storage is separate cloud storage. To check it, open Settings > [your name] > iCloud. Apple explains the difference between device and iCloud storage.

If your iPad is running low on space
