These checks answer different questions: one reports Samsung’s diagnostic status for the battery; the other shows recent battery use by apps.
Check your Galaxy battery’s condition in Samsung Members

Open Samsung Members. If it is not installed, download it from the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store.

Open Support or Diagnostics. Samsung documents access through the Support tab and, on some versions, through Discover > Diagnostics.

Choose Phone diagnostics. Depending on the app screen, tap Get started or run the diagnostic, then select Battery status if the tests are listed individually.

What Normal, Weak, and Bad mean
- Normal: Samsung says no performance issues were found.
- Weak: Battery efficiency may be reduced, including due to long-term use or environmental conditions.
- Bad: Samsung describes the battery life as significantly degraded.
These are Samsung’s diagnostic categories, not a reading of remaining battery capacity. Samsung’s guidance does not assign them a precise percentage or a universal replacement threshold. [Samsung UK: check battery status]
If the diagnostics menu is different
Samsung Members screens and available tests can vary by Galaxy model, software version, region, and app version. Look for Support or Diagnostics, update Samsung Members if needed, or consult Samsung Support for your model. [Samsung US: Samsung Members diagnostics]
See which apps are using battery

Open Settings.

Tap Battery.

Scroll to the battery graph and tap View details. On some software versions, open the battery graph first and then choose View details.
The details screen shows app battery use for the period displayed. Samsung also describes screen-on and screen-off time in this view, which helps put app activity in context. How to interpret the app list
Higher usage means an app accounted for more of the battery consumption during the period shown; it does not by itself prove the app is faulty. Battery use depends on how the phone and apps were used, and Samsung’s guidance does not set one universal usage threshold that identifies a “bad” app.

Samsung identifies rapid drain after charging and unexpected shutdowns—including shutdowns in cold conditions—as signs that a battery may have declined. These symptoms warrant checking the device, but do not establish by themselves that the battery is the only cause. If Samsung Members reports a poor status, battery life has dropped sharply, the phone shuts down unexpectedly, or the device displays a battery performance alert, contact Samsung Support or seek service-center assistance as appropriate.
