To check an LG appliance warranty in the United States, find the appliance’s model number, open LG USA’s Warranty Information page, and select the relevant product and model. Keep the serial number and purchase details nearby: warranty terms can depend on the exact model and purchase, and LG may need those details to confirm coverage.
Find the model and serial numbers
Look for the appliance identification label and record both numbers exactly as shown. The model number identifies the product for LG’s warranty lookup; the serial number helps identify your individual unit. Label locations vary by appliance and may vary by model, so use LG’s model and serial number guide for the illustrated directions for your specific product.
Common refrigerator and dishwasher locations
- Refrigerator: LG says the label is on the inside right side of the liner on most models; newer refrigerators may have it on the left.
- Dishwasher: Check the right side of the open door.
Ranges, ovens, and connected appliances
LG lists multiple possible label locations for ranges and ovens. Follow the guide for your appliance rather than relying on one location. For a connected appliance, LG says the ThinQ app can retrieve its model and serial numbers.
Enter the identifiers carefully. LG’s refrigerator finder says refrigerator serial numbers begin with three numbers and contain 12 or 13 characters. For the model displayed in that finder, LG says to enter only the portion before the period. Those format instructions apply to that refrigerator finder; do not assume they apply to every LG product.

How do I check the warranty on my LG appliance?
- Go to LG USA’s Warranty Information page.
- Select the product category and follow the model-based lookup flow. Use the model number from the appliance label.
- Review the warranty information for that exact model. Check the coverage terms relevant to the part or repair you need, not just a headline duration.
- If you have registered the appliance, check MyLG for product details and support records. LG’s registration instructions say: “Enter your product model number, serial number and your information.”
What information should you have ready?
Gather the model and serial numbers, purchase date, place of purchase, and price. LG’s registration process asks for purchase information, and a receipt or other purchase record may help clarify when and where the appliance was bought. Registration and warranty coverage are not the same thing: registering creates a product record, while the model’s warranty terms and the purchase circumstances determine applicable coverage.
Read the exact model’s warranty alongside any retailer-specific terms or separately purchased service plan. For example, LG describes a one-year extension of the one-year limited warranty for qualifying Costco member appliance purchases; other terms remain in effect. That is a specific Costco example, not a general extension for all LG appliance purchases. See LG’s Costco terms and confirm the terms that apply to your own purchase.

Use LG US’s phone or chat support or submit an online warranty repair request. Have the model and serial numbers, purchase date, and receipt or other purchase record available. Contact options and service details can change, so check LG’s live support pages when you need help.
