You can request a change to a direct Steam Packet booking through your registered online account, or contact Reservations. If you booked through a travel agent or ticket aggregator, ask that agent to make the change. To cancel, notify Reservations in writing as soon as possible and include your unused ticket or web confirmation. The fare type and, for cancellations, how long remains before departure determine the applicable terms.
How to change your Steam Packet booking
- Check who made the booking. For a booking made directly with the company online, sign in to the registered account and use its booking tools to request an amendment. You can also call Reservations for help. If an agent or ticket aggregator made the booking, contact it; the company says it will amend an agent booking only on the agent’s instruction. [Steam Packet booking FAQ]
- Check the fare conditions. The rules depend on the fare and the particular offer. Review the conditions attached to your booking before confirming a change.
- Confirm any fee or fare difference. Ask Reservations or your agent to confirm the amount due before proceeding if the applicable fee is unclear.
Flexi fares
The company’s FAQ says a Standard Flexi amendment has no amendment fee. If the replacement sailing costs more, you pay the fare difference. This does not mean a change is free if the new sailing is more expensive. [Steam Packet booking FAQ]
Special Offer fares
Amendments depend on availability and the offer’s conditions; some Special Offer bookings cannot be amended. The company’s FAQ lists a fee of £5/€6 per person for registered users changing online, or £10/€12 per person offline, plus any fare increase. Its visitor booking terms give different euro amounts: £5/€7 online and £10/€14 offline. Because the official pages conflict on the euro fees, check the conditions for your booking or confirm the charge with Reservations. The FAQ says no refund or credit is given for an amendment. Bookings made through an agent
Contact the original agent or aggregator rather than trying to amend the booking directly with the company. The agent may add its own fees to the operator’s charges. [Steam Packet booking FAQ]
How to cancel your booking
If you cannot travel, tell the Reservations Office in writing as soon as possible. Include the unused ticket or your web confirmation. The terms direct Flexi fare refund applications to Reservations; a refund is subject to the cancellation charges and the company’s terms, not an automatic promise of a full refund. If Steam Packet cancels the sailing
This guidance covers a passenger choosing to cancel their own booking. If the company cancels a sailing, different passenger-rights and re-routing or refund provisions may apply. Do not use the voluntary-cancellation tables above to calculate what you are owed for an operator-cancelled sailing. [Steam Packet visitor booking terms]
