You can capture a public webpage with Screenshot.rocks for free and without an account. Its online tool captures the first screen; for a full-page image, use your browser’s built-in capture feature, then import the result into Screenshot.rocks to crop or style it. These workflows use tools you may already have, so you do not need to buy screenshot software for a basic capture.
Capture the first screen with Screenshot.rocks
- Open the Screenshot.rocks website screenshot tool.
- Enter the page address. The tool says you can omit the
https://prefix. - Choose Mobile for a phone layout, or leave it off for desktop.
- Select Capture.
- Choose a browser frame and background if you want them, then export the image.
This online workflow is for public pages and captures the first screen, not the entire scrolling page. Screenshot.rocks lists its desktop layout as 1440 × 800 at 2× density, producing an image of 2880 × 1600 pixels. Its mobile layout is 375 × 812 at 3× density, producing 1125 × 2436 pixels. Those are the service’s stated output dimensions, not a universal requirement for social posts, slides, or other publishing platforms.
Capture an entire page without buying an extension
For a long page, capture it in the browser first, then bring the saved result into Screenshot.rocks if you want to crop it or add a frame or background. Browser menu labels can vary slightly by version.
Chrome
- Open the page and open DevTools.
- Open the DevTools Command Menu.
- Search for and choose Capture full size screenshot.
Firefox
- Right-click the page and choose Take Screenshot.
- Choose Save full page, then save the file.
Microsoft Edge
- Open the browser menu and choose Screenshot.
- Select Capture full page.
Safari on Mac
- Enable Safari’s web developer features, then open Web Inspector.
- Select the
<html>element and use the inspector’s capture option.
Safari’s capture workflow depends on Web Inspector and developer features being enabled; menu wording may differ between versions.
#1 Best Overall
iPhone
- Take a screenshot and tap its preview.
- Choose Full Page, then save the result. The Screenshot.rocks guide says this full-page result is saved as a PDF.
Android
- Take a screenshot and look in its preview for Capture more or Scroll capture.
- Extend the capture to the desired page length and save. The control name varies by phone.
Very long pages may exceed a browser’s capture-height limit. They can also become too small to read when placed in a slide or social post. In those cases, capture or crop only the section that matters.
When the online capture does not work
Screenshot.rocks says its online tool cannot capture pages behind a login, local addresses such as localhost, or sites that block automated browsers. It also lists a mistyped address and a slow page load as possible causes of failure.
Rank #2
- Intuitive interface of a conventional FTP client
- Easy and Reliable FTP Site Maintenance.
- FTP Automation and Synchronization
- Check the address: correct any typo and try again.
- Wait for the page: a slow load may prevent a successful capture.
- Use your own browser: if the page is private, local, or blocks automated access, capture it in the browser where you can view it and import the file into the editor.
- For logged-in pages: Screenshot.rocks’ extension page says its extension captures the visible tab, including logged-in pages, but does not capture browser-internal pages or full pages.
Privacy and India-specific considerations
Screenshot.rocks says the captured page is returned to the browser and is not stored on its server; its homepage says images are processed in the browser and never stored on the service’s servers. These are the provider’s statements, not an independent security audit. The extension page says clicking its button sends the screenshot to Screenshot.rocks to open in the editor and that it is not stored.
The documented public capture workflow is free and requires no account, and the full-page methods above use existing browser or device features. The official material does not establish India-specific access, regional restrictions, or network performance. If a capture does not load, check that the page itself opens over your connection and try the local browser method.

Or skip the browser setup
For repeatable captures from code or AI tools, ScreenshotNeo offers a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can return an image or PDF; its clean-shot workflow accepts consent banners before capture and removes known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
For example, use cURL to save a WebP screenshot of a public page:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for options and authentication. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Sign up for ScreenshotNeo’s free plan.
